Neo-Yu-Shan, the Celestial City

Neo-Yu-Shan is a festival of delights and nightmares, a city the size of the Blessed Isle or more, surrounded by an endless ocean which eventually fades into mists which shroud things unknown. Portions of it are in good shape and resemble a cross between Mayan architecture, fifties sci-fi visions of the future, and a modern earth city. Other parts lie in ruins or contain strange mysterious architecture of unknown origin, now abandoned.

At the heart of Neo-Yu-Shan is the Crystal Palace, a huge castle the size of the Pentagon and the height of the Empire State Building. Within this vast complex lies the prime machinery for the Ultimate System, the monitoring stations for the Six Directions (North, South, West, East, Center, and Heaven), endless bureaucratic offices, and at its heart, the White Tower, at the top of which is the Observatory of the Celestials, where the highest goddesses and their favored servants dwell, looking down at Heaven and Creation as they relax and enjoy themselves in a giant never ending LAN party, the Games of Infinity.

A great plaza surroundes the Crystal Palace, and roads run out from it like spokes in all directions, with circular roads expanding outwards from the palace in concentric circles around it. Some of the roads are bisected by canals; others are overshadowed by celestial monorail lines. The canals open into the Celestial Lake, which spreads in a great wedge away from the Crystal Plaza, towards the western quarter of Neo-Yu-Shan. Many goddesses of water live within the lake.

Neo-Yu-Shan loosely mirrors creation; the central area is full of super-magitech and resembles a futuristic city of gleaming metal and crystal. The eastern quarter is full of homes and palaces made from organic materials and contains many parks. The Giant Peaches of Immortality are grown there. The western quarter is heavily cut with canals (though all but the south quarter have canals) and is riddled with lakes and ponds. The northern quarter is the coolest, with sea breezes coming off the ocean; many mornings, there is frost everywhere at dawn. If you go far enough, there are many experiments with ice sculptures and ice palaces. And the Southern quarter is very hot and full of workshops and sometimes smoke and ash; everything is built of stone and metal to be non-flammible.

Neo-Yu-Shan is connected to Creation by a system of gates. In theory, each is well garrisoned and connects to a canal, carriage, or monorail station. In practice, half are abandoned or thinly guarded. Such also tend to be found in the wilder areas of Neo-Yu-Shan.

Nice start. I renamed the Games of Divinity to the Games of Infinity. It could also be called the Game of Divist Nighty or something like that, the Eternal Slumber party of the greatest goddesses. -Xeriar
