Ten Thousand Souls Take Flight appear to be a pair of superb daggers with long and elegant stiletto blades and crosspieces shaped like feathers. Composed of an alloy of soulsteel, white jade, and bone, they are pure white and yet reflect no light. They are elegant weapons, and excellent at their work. However, their natural form holds only a small portion of their power. Designed by an unknown deathlord for his favourite scion, the weapons may unlock their true power to make their user an angel of darkness.

An exalt may insert each of the daggers into one of their shoulderblades; the daggers will each soak up five motes of essence from the user, increasing the commitment to 12 motes, and will grow into a set of massive, bone white wings twenty feet from wingtip to wingtip. The daggers will each do one level of lethal damage as they are inserted; as the damage heals, the wings anchor themselves to the skeleton of the exalt. The wings can be folded up to a size that can be awkwardly concealed under a large coat. Each feather of the wings is a soul hammered and worked with exquisite delicacy; however, the souls cannot be seen in the feathers. Instead, when the wings are spread, they leave behind for a dozen feet a trail of black, writhing essence, wispy smoke of pure darkness that moans in agony and resolves itself into faces that vanish almost instantly.

The exalt may fly at five times their normal speed, which becomes their new base speed when in flight. Any charm or ability that would change their speed affects that value instead.
Any being who sees the wings unfolded must succeed at a valor check or take a two die penalty due to fear. If they are attacked by the wearer of the wings, the difficulty of the valour check is 2, and failure will result in a four die penalty. Furthermore, the terror of this vision grants a four die bonus to any active attempt at intimidation.
The user of the wings may make melee or brawl attacks with the wings using the dagger's stats; feathers will sharpen into blades as the wing strikes, or will emerge to slash on a fly-by attack. Alternately, the user may spend one mote per shot to fire a feather from the wings with the stats of a jade chakram.
