This device is often dispatched in Lookshy to engineers assigned to man heavy equipment, or anyone else with more technical skill than combat ability. Appearing as a rod three feet long, often of blue jade, and always etched with paeans to the gods of the wind and sky, it allows for incredible - and incredibly short - bursts of speed. The device may be activated as a miscellaneous action (Speed 10, DV -1) by holding it front of the user; for those ten ticks, the user will fly in a straight line at a rate of 200 yards per tick. This action cannot be aborted early, and this may be done only once per day. However, the user may continue to move at that rate afterwards with an expenditure of 3 motes of essence per tick, for as long as they have essence available. The device is not especially maneuverable; while the device automatically raises or lowers its passenger to avoid obstacles such as small buildings and forests, and automatically goes around mountains or towers, but once the direction is chosen when the device is activated, it cannot be changed.
