Sorcery is one of the most potent tools of the Solar Exalted. However, the time necessary to cast most spells can be debilitating in battle, much less ambush. The Twilight developed this Charm for such situations. This Charm must be invoked on the turn before the caster starts casting her sorcery. When the caster finishes casting her spell, weaves of golden Essence come out of her mouth and wrap the final syllable of the last word of the spell. It becomes a fine mist which the caster inhales. When she wishes to release the spell, she can speak the final syllable. This cause the glowing mist to come pouring out of her mouth and causing the release of the spell the same turn. This Charm is applicable to any Circle of Sorcery the caster knows. There are some drawbacks to this Charm. The motes and willpower for this Charm are committed, as are the motes and willpower for the spell in question. The duration of this Charm is the casters Essence in days. After that amount of time, if the spell has not been released, it will explode inside the caster. Treat as Essence burns under pg 217, with no armor soak applying (Stamina and soak boosters still apply).

Comments:

Very cool... But. That's a LOT of committed essence, and a big chunk of committed willpower, which is pretty rare. Considering that you need a load of charms and essence 4 to learn this, wheras buying a sorcery capturing cord is only artifact 3 or 4... It seems underpowered. Perhaps only the motes and willpower for using the charm should be committed? Perhaps, the user needs to pay the costs for casting at the moment they release the spell? Perhaps it costs 10m + 1wp per circle of the spell? All of these are suggestions which I feel would be better than the current exhorbitant cost.

I like this charm a lot, and I also agree (amazing!) with Darloth's suggestions. This charm should not have such a huge commitment cost... also, there should be no Duration limitation. Let the sorcerer store the spell as long as he likes. If this spell can be made reasonable cost... very cool! It is a charm I imagine many Solar sorcerers would take. It has the potential to make Solar combat spells worthwhile. Yes, comparing it to the power of a sorcery capturing cord is appropriate. Perhaps a commitment of 5 motes/circle of captured spell? -Madwand
