The world is a different place. The numbers of the Dragon-Blooded have dwindled over the passing centuries, and the leaps and bounds made in the fields of mortal technology make their advantages less relevant. Their slim numbers and decrease in relative power has led the Realm to become the Scarlet Empire, ruled primarily by mortals. The Dragon-Blooded are an anachronism, clinging to ancient customs and fashions often regarded as elegantly irrelevant. Lookshy has expanded its borders, becoming an outright nation (The Citizens' Commonwealth of Lookshy), rather than a city-state, and easily rivals the Empire in terms of military, if not economic power.

The Autochthonian forces emerged in the central South, the Southeast, and the Northeast, and spread like wildfire. The Scarlet Empire and the Lookshy Commonwealth very quickly found themselves backed into a corner as the only powers that might be able to stem this tide, and even then only if they cooperate - a task neither side much liked. The Scarlet Empire remained relatively safe at first, trusting the Autochthonian unfamiliarity with naval warfare, but their foe adapted more quickly than expected. The Lookshy Commonwealth fought ruthlessly with weapons of unspeakable power, rapidly depleting their stores, but succeeding in convincing the invaders that direct assault may be imprudent. With the new war, the Dragon-Blooded have found relevance again, as their slim advantages become a necessary edge.

PCs will be Dragon-Blooded, on board a Skywolf-sized skyship. The ship may be mixed Lookshy and Imperial forces.
