Solar Circle
Denouncing of Heartfelt Regret
40 motes

This spell was used in the First Age by Solars who wished to reward a follower for a lifetime of service. This spell only works on mortals, and only those who have regrets about things the wished they could accomplish during life but were unable to because of circumstances brought on by their service. This spell has no effect on those who are generally satisfied with their life, and may only be cast on a mortal once during their lifetime.

The spell is a ritual which lasts from sunrise to sunset. During this time the motes used for the spell remain committed. The mortal ritually sacrifices something signifigant or symbolic from the life he's leaving behind, prepares himself for his new life by ritually cleansing himself by immersion in specially prepared water, and then takes up the trapping of the life he wishes he could have lived. At sunset, the mortal and the Chosen part ways.

The system effects are as follows:

-The mortal's body regresses in age to his early twenties. All physical diseases the target currently suffers from are healed.

-The mortal loses all memory of the time up to his first couple decades. This also has the effect of washing away the cynisism and bitterness that came from living a life of regret. The mortal retains all of his abilities and general knowledge, just not knowledge of any events that may have transpired.

-The ability most linked to the regret the mortal wishes to resolve most becomes favored.

-The virtue that would most benefit the mortal in his endevor is permanantly raised by one, to a maximum of five.

-The spell implants a desire within the mortal to pursue that which he desired so much that it granted him a second chance. Every month on the full moon the mortal must spend a willpower point and make a Willpower roll, difficulty 3 to not pursue his dream. If this roll is successful, he may not regain temporary willpower until he does. Once the mortal resolves his regrets, this effect stops and the mortal is then free to do as he pleases.
