Description
Saffron Iceflow is a true daughter of the Northwest, the fairness of her faintly iridiscent skin contrasting pleasingly with her dark violet eyes and hair. Physically, she is short and graceful, with a distracting fullness to her figure that betrays a certain fondness for sweetmeats. She dresses well when in port, with head-turning expanses of pale neck revealed in the open collars of her shirts. Out on the ice plains or at sea she dresses more sensibly, bundled up in a warm coat with a fur lining with a scarf wrapped about her face and head.
She is rarely seen without her black jade breastplate, so finely wrought as to encase her body like an ornamented second skin, or her huge, heavy smashfist, made of several heavy interlocking plates of black jade. She smells of seawater even when on dry land.

Saffron descends from an extended clan of outcastes who work as privateers for the Sea Lord. Piracy is in her blood, quite literally, as well as a liberal dose of the Dragons' blessings.
Contacts •••
One of Saffron's contacts is a barkeep at a smuggler hangout in the Blessed Isle. Always alert to the gossip, he points her towards potential employers or marks. Her second contact is a port official in Tideholme who'll overlook contraband if his palms are greased with jade or silver. He brings her gossip from the north when they're having tea as a preamble to their usual dealings. Her third contact is her older brother, Obsidian, who is still in contact with the family at large. He has extensive dealings with the privateers of Coral and can advise her on which shipping routes to take.

She fetches in quite a profit running blockades, smuggling contranband, and occasionally speeding through the shadowland of Marama's Fell as a courier or overpaid chauffeur. She would have more jade at her hands, but she's rather a spendthrift and most of the ship's maintenence comes out of her cut.
