Background
Northern Wind Style
Northern Wind Style is a Celestial Level martial arts style designed around harnessing and using the vast power that exists in the frozen winds of the far north. Mastery of the style allows user to taste freedoms he or she has never known and to attack with a cold fury that could intimidate even the warmest of flames. Because it is designed to emulate the wind, the form type weapons are War Boomerangs and Fighting Chains (and their artifact equivalents), and in order to advance in this style the practioner must also dedicate time to learning how the wind moves by enhancing his prowess with thrown weapons. Like most martial arts, this style is incompatible with the use of armor.

Storm Herald's Approach
Cost: 3 motes; Mins: Martial Arts 2, Thrown 1, Essence 2; Type: Supplemental Keywords: Combo-OK Duration: Instant Prereqs: None
Often it happens that the great northern winds herald in the worst northern storms. When this charm is activated there is a small clap of thunder and a frigid wind blows by the character. This is a supplement to a join battle action that adds a number of successes to the user's join battle roll equal to his Martial Arts rating. It also removes a success from everyone else's join battle roll that was standing within his Permanent Essence in yards due to a frozen chill going up their spines'.
Chill Wind's Speed
Cost: -; Mins: Martial Arts 3, Thrown 1, Essence 2; Type: Permanent Keywords: - Duration: - Prereqs: Storm Herald's Approach
The winds of the north are nothing if not fast. A northern wind can blow a storm onto a village with almost no warning, or bring a frozen fate to even a mounted traveler. With this Charm te Exalt becomes capable of harnessing just a little bit of this amazing speed.
Use of this Charm is not considered a character's Charm use for the action, as this charm is a permanent enhancement of the Exalt's natural capabilities. When this Charm is purchased the Exalt adds half of his martial arts score, round up, in yards to his run and dash distances.
Unattainable Wind Technique
Cost: 1 mote / DV added; Mins: Martial Arts 3, Thrown 1, Essence 2; Type: Reflexive Keywords: Combo-OK Duration: Instant Prereqs: Storm Herald's Approach
The northern wind is fickle indeed about whom it likes and whom it dislikes, and it can only ever truly be caught when it wants to be. Practitioner's who have mastered this Charm share the wind's fickle nature
For each mote spent, to a maximum of the Exalt's Permanent Essence, the user adds 1 to his or her Dodge DV for a single attack against her.
Buoyed by the Air Method
Cost: 6 motes + 1wp; Mins: Martial Arts 4, Thrown 2, Essence 3; Type: Simple Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious Duration: Essence in Actions Prereqs: Unattainable Wind Technique, Chill Wind's Speed
The martial artist with this level of mastery over himself and the wind that surrounds him is capable of actually taking flight, if only for a short time. The user focuses on moving like the wind and spends the necessary motes and willpower, and shortly there after finds himself hovering in the air above the ground.
The user can fly to any height can can move at normal speeds through the air. Keep in mind though that the practitioner is actually flying and not totally defying physics. The user can also not touch the ground for the duration of the Charm and at a minimum is always a yard off the ground.
Northern Wind Form
Cost: 6 motes; Mins: Martial Arts 4, Thrown 2, Essence 3; Type: Simple Keywords: Form-type, Obvious Duration: Scene Prereqs: Buoyed by the Air Method
When the Exalt enters this form Charm harsh northern winds gather around him and begin to howl and shriek as they swirl. The Exalt's body also takes on a semi-immaterial state as he begins to assume more of the aspects of the wind.
While in this form the Exalt can do lethal damage with his barehands, and he can parry lethal attacks without a stunt. He also lowers the speed of all his attack by 1(minimum 3) and seems to rarely touch the ground as he walks. Finally, the winds that whip around him bring with them the cold of the pure north and everyone who is within the Exalt's Permanent Essence in yards from him suffers the effects of a supernatural ice storm every action.
Distant Breeze Method
Cost: 4 motes; Mins: Martial Arts 4, Thrown 2, Essence 3; Type: Supplemental Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious Duration: Instant Prereqs: Northern Wind Form
The northern wind is an almost impossible foe to fight, because it can cause breeze's to beat upon an opponent long before it ever arrives. Using this Charm allows the martial artist to attack from a great distance away from his opponent.
When this Charm is used to supplement an attack the martial artist can attack someone with his bare hands or with a form weapon from his PE x 5 yards away, this distance simply adds onto thrown weapon ranges. Also, since the attacks themselves either are the breeze itself or are riding upon it they are considered unblockable without the use of Charms.
Swirling Gust Attack
Cost: 5 motes + 1wp; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Thrown 3, Essence 3; Type: Extra Action Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious Duration: Instant Prereqs: Distant Breeze Method
The frozen wind is not always a straightforward force that only blows in one direction going from this place to that place. Sometimes the wind finds something to its fancy and to show its fascination it dances around it with intermittent gusts. A northern gust is often stronger then it looks, though, and it can easily leave the object of its fascination in a much worse state then it was originally was. When a person gets caught in one of these gusts he can only hope the wind gets bored of him and leaves before it finishes admiring him.
When the marital artist uses this Charm he seems to almost vanish into the air as he becomes a blur of movement and speed allowing him to take his MA + 1 extra actions that have to be used for attacks. Not all of these actions have to used, but for each one that is used the Exalt must move at least 1 yard, because the wind never strikes a person caught in its grasp in the same place twice. All of these attacks must be levied at the same person.
Exquisite Freedom of the Wind
Cost: 7 motes; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Thrown 3, Essence 4; Type: Simple Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious Duration: Scene Prereqs: Swirling Gust Attack
As powerful as the chill wind is, it is often its freedom that people yearn for the most, and this Charm is a perfect example as to why. When this Charm is activated the martial artist takes on the semi-immaterial state that the form Charm grants him, albeit with different benefits.
First off, the user cannot be restrained in any way, including grapple attacks, while this Charm is activated. Secondly, the Exalt can walk over short spaces (no greater then the user's PE in yards across) with nothing to support him but the air. The user must keep moving while he crosses the gap, however, or else he will fall.
100 Blizzards Strike
Cost: 4 motes; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Thrown 3, Essence 3; Type: Supplemental Keywords: Combo-OK, Knockback, Obvious Duration: Instant Prereqs: Distant Breeze Method
The martial artist is now capable of summoning blizzard force winds around his hands in order to batter his opponents and make sure they are always where the master wants them.
For every point of raw damage above the target's stamina the target is knocked back 2 yards. They also have to check for knockdown if the attack inflicts more damage then the target's (Stamina + Resistance) as normal.
Also every attack made with this Charm brings with it some of the northern cold, which adds a separate source of 2 lethal damage, which cannot be soaked by armor.
Swift and Silent Wind Approach
Cost: 5 motes + 1wp; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Thrown 3, Essence 4; Type: Reflexive Keywords: Combo-Basic Duration: Scene Prereqs: 100 Blizzards Strike
The winds that blow the hardest are often not the winds that are the most effective and it is by embodying the silence and stealth of a lull before the storm that one can be the most efficient.
When an Exalt uses this Charm he wraps himself in wind and melds back into the scenery. This grants the martial artist several powerful advantages in and out of combat. First, the user gets his martial arts score in automatic successes added to all stealth rolls, and even if his stealth is pierced any opponent who attacks him suffers a -2 external penalty. Also is used to help reestablish surprise in combat this Charm grants the user his martial arts in extra dice to do so.
Untouchable Gale Technique
Cost: 10 motes + 1wp; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Thrown 4, Essence 5; Type: Simple Keywords: Obvious Duration: Scene Prereqs: Swift and Silent Wind Approach, Exquisite Freedom of the Wind
The final lesson that a martial artist of this style learns is that the northern wind is above all things untouchable and vengeful to the last against any who would deign to try and make it their own.
This Charm can only be activated if Northern Wind Form is already active. Once the motes and willpower are spent the user seems to become almost completely incorporeal, his movements become like lightening, and the harshness of his physical retorts draws aquaintance to the ferocity of the worst northern storms. The master cannot be hit by any attacks that lack a magical component to them, whether that magic comes from a Charm, a Spell, or Magical Material it does not matter. To attacks infused with magic the user adds his martial arts score divided by two (round up) to his Dodge DV. Finally, the Exalt can make a full (Dexterity + Martial Arts) counterattack against any attack made against him out to his Essence x 10 yards (This range overrides any thrown weapon range and the counterattak cannot be made at a larger distance even if the thrown weapon would allow it). The user can only make his PE in counterattacks each tick.
