"Best known for being the period where Venus revoked her Gift to Man, the Hours of Suffering are not only exclusive to the Gift of Serenity, but known to be the absence of any Gift revoked, though Venus' has been, so far, the only one. It is widely that believed Man and Exalt, after the Hours of Suffering had been experienced, learned this vaunted lesson: what the Maidens give, they will also take away. If needed.
"It is said, were the other Gifts to be revoked, Man would suffer through the Hours of Suffering again, but it is widely believed the worst would be if the Gift of Mars were to be revoked. These points on the body, known as the Kundalini Gates, travel from the base of the skull down the spine to the pelvis and control the instincts and urges of Man in combat. It is believed that if Mars had cause to revoke her gift, in the Hours of Suffering, great pain would be inflicted through the Gates, pain that could not numbed despite constant exposure.
