Arian, God of Cats

Conversational reflections of Shataina, the Ethereal Crimson Lily, Lady of Legends:

Arian, God of Cats: I sadly can't say I've met him, but his legend has certainly come to my attention. Unlike many of his cousin Avatars of the Wild, Arian seems to have a kind of affection for humans, and associates with people as often, it seems, as his own kindred.

His doings during the First Age are a matter of laughter among many of the gods, but I have to say that I admire him. I know, for example, that it was he who tried most desperately to get Justicar Crystal Raven to deal with the Dying Scream of Shattered Adamant, sensing in the Essence flows of the area that the catastrophe would happen before it did. They say that he even risked his own immortal life; Justicar Crystal Raven was known to destroy spirits for less than what Arian did to him, trying to attract his attention. It is truly a shame that Justicar Crystal Raven was so blind and selfish, and refused even to speak to Arian, failing to deal with the threat to his realm until it was entirely too late.

... "Playful"? I suppose he must be. He's the God of Cats, after all. Some would probably also call him "prideful", and "aggravating". And "lustful" too, I'm sure. A tomcat will do ... what he will. Well, temperance isn't everything, and Arian's ... intemperance ... did have one positive effect in his dozens of children; his descendants have done a lot of amazing things. Cat of Chiaroscuro, for example, who died only a few centuries before the Usurpation, was one of the most amusing and impressive God-Blooded heroes I ever heard of. His story lives on in Chiaroscuro to this day. I hope his father is proud of him.
