Broken Back

August Wren (Wood)
Immaculate monk. Short and bald. Presumed to have some experience dealing with ghosts and spirits.
Cathak Thealyra (Air)
Adjutant and bodyguard to General Otori, she is a highly competent warrior with her chosen weapon, a blue jade direlance. Short and stocky, with long and unruly silver hair, she keeps a close eye on events around her mentor.
Cynis Belar Otori (Earth)
General in the armies of the Scarlet Empress and Brother to Cynis Venia. Tall and muscular, with usually with his black hair close-cropped for practicality (instead expending the vanity on the plume of his helmet).
Genar
Sorceror and occultist, cursed with a living putresence of his flesh by necromantic defences beneath Demor's Stand.

The City of Tideholme

Cynis Asura, Grand Duchess of the Northern Provinces, Satrap of Tideholme (Wood)
Tall and willowy, with long dark hair that would stretch to the floor, and with a figure that she enjoys showing off to full effect, Asura has cut a swathe through the high society of Tideholme since her arrival some five years ago. Residing in the Iceflower Palace, a large building constructed as much as a statement of the Realm's might and power as it was to provide Asura with a place to live, she makes a show of guiding the kingdom while actually leaving the majority of day-to-day affairs in the hands of the otherwise-impotent king. Always courting scandal, Asura is currently engaged in an affair with Ojia Windrider, a Haslanti airship captain of note.
Currently the mentor and in loco parentis for Cassia as well as being a former schoolmate and lover to Cynis Venia, her cousin. The relationship between her and the latter could best be described as "intense". Her interest in her protege also tends towards the physical.
Anithul the Red(Fire)
A tall, lanky Dragon-blood with fiery red hair that a foot to his already considerable height, Anithul is a musician of some note, particularly with his chosen instrument, the guqin. A native of the god-infested city of Great Forks, rumour has it he was exiled for fluffing a performance in front of one the spirit triumvirate that rules the city.
Cora'Esh (Air)
Tall, thin and pale, with white hair that reaches the ground, Cora'Esh has been gifted (although some would say afflicted) with an overly active anima that fills the air around her with static. Depending on her emotional state this can range from a light tingling over the skin of those nearby to sheets of electricity that can shatter glasses and scour the floor. Mysterious almost to a fault, Cora'Esh has been known to sponsor expeditions into the interior of the North, specifically into Marama's Fell, and the panoply of artefacts and relics of the First Age that she is known to own attest to their success. She is also a sorceress of some note, and maintains a lush garden at the centre of her mazelike home.
Gereth Emberheart (Fire)
Short and stocky, with red-brown hair and beard, Gereth is the general of the armies of Tideholme, and is rarely seen without his armour and sword, even at social gatherings.
Milo (Earth)
Dark-skinned and with eyes that glitter like amethysts, Milo is a recent addition to the social scene of Tideholme. A scholar and savant, his first loves are books and knowledge.
Sesus Vaniya (Earth)
The local Immaculate abbess, Vaniya is tasked with spreading the Immaculate Philosophy throughout the immediate area. Unfortunately, she has recently picked up an addiction to icewine that could threaten to bring her down.
V'Neef Gosul (Water)
Fat, rude, unpleasant - these are the three words that most often spring into people's minds when first confronted with the foremost merchant of Tideholme. Given a choice in the matter, most of the upper crust of the kingdom and its surrounds would not deal with this deeply offensive Dragon-blood, unfortunately, since he directly or indirectly controls most of the trade entering or leaving, choice doesn't come into it often. His one saving grace is his prices, which he keeps fastidiously reasonable.
He is currently missing, presumed dead, following the discovery that he had been trading with the Dead for some time. The Tideholme army assaulted his palace in the city, burning it almost to the ground.

The Haslanti League

Ojia Windrider (Air)
A stocky young woman with bright blue hair, Ojia is an Haslanti airship captain, and is widely known amongst both raiders and smugglers in the North. Her hatred of the former runs deeply, to the point where she will divert her airship from its course to hunt down a raiding party, and her feelings about the latter are scarcely any less, believing that their trade feeds the need for raids. As a Dragon-blood she is occasionally seconded as a representative of the League's government to put in appearances elsewhere in the North, a duty that has become somewhat more pleasant following the initiation of an affair with the Satrap of Tideholme.

Othakaar & the Blessed Isle

Mnemon Oyoni (presumed Earth)
An Immaculate monk living in the temple of Othakaar, one of only two Dragon-Blooded monks there and the only one still active. She has an abrasive and unpleasant personality and the main thing that people notice when they first see her is the large facial scar she has, going from forehead to cheek, left-to-right.
Ragara Vina (Air)
Sister to Kerzoro but still in the good graces of her family, she is almost the diametrical physical opposite to her brother. Short & thin with bluish hair that she keeps to a moderate length, she has a generally sunny disposition that sets people around her at their ease.
Cathak Henara (Earth)
Appointed to the Magistrates by the Scarlet Empress after some social unpleasantness (rumoured to have been arranged or even fabricated by the Cynises), she is almost stereotypically Earth-aspected in appearance, being short and stocky, and although she keeps her black hair cut short for reasons of practicality she is not unpleasant to the eye. She takes her new duties very seriously, roaming all over the northern Blessed Isle in search of contraventions of Imperial law.
