The Heroes of Chaos were left with few options, as their boat sailed further down the Yanaze, away from Nexus and the madness it held within its walls.
They had to travel north and recover the White Rune, before Belasco could do the same. Before he could reunite the Soul Mirror and seal Creation's fate.
Still, before they could do so, Kaiju's people needed to get to safety, or else their rescue would be all for naught. And so they continued downriver, determined to return to Mako's home island of Sancia to restore Kaiju's shattered tribe. Alas, but fate was not so kind.
As the Heroes were all wracked by terrible dreams, danger loomed near. The morning after their flight from Nexus began, a small pirate fleet led by 3 Water aspect outcastes known as the 3 Bastards attacked the Mya's Flowing Mane. Although horribly outnumbered, the more powerful Heroes of Chaos bested the fleet, slaying it's captains and scattering it's crews. Although the fight was hardly easy, it was over swiftly. Sadly, not before the cunning 3 Bastards had hacked large holes in the hull of the Heroes ship, forcing them to beach and travel on foot.
At this point, tensions were running high. Mako and Kaiju were both moody, and Chahailis, Jasala, and Jennarin were forced to take more active roles in order to assure that the party could continue.
