Belasco
Belasco, whose real name of Garet he had long since abandoned, is the brother of Mako the Shark, although mentioning that is a sure way of getting a punch in the mouth from Mako. The last time Mako had seen him, he had left to make his way in the world, seeking fame and fortune he could never hope for while with his family in Nexus. It was his inadvertant discovery of the Black Rune of the Soul Mirror that led him down his dark spiralling path to damnation. He is determined to restore the Soul Mirror at any cost, all in the vain hope that his mistress, the Lover Clad in Raiment of Tears, will end his torment forever.
His body is a bizarre and terrifying mesh of flesh and soulsteel, with the latter being threaded throughout his body in a mockery of veins and arteries. Over his heart is stitched in the Black Rune, which grants him an unwanted immortality.
Because of his curse, he must consume human flesh. Although it is unknown what happens if he does not, the animal hunger that the soulsteel implants in him renders the point moot.
He was last seen plunging himself into the dark waters of the Yanaze to escape the Heroes of Chaos...
