The Paths of Primeval Excellency
In addition to the Ten Paths of Primeval Mastery, the Dragon Kings also developed the Ten Paths of Primeval Excellency. Each Path of Excellency is associated with a Path of Mastery, so there is both a Shaping Wood Mastery and a Shaping Wood Excellency. The Paths of Excellency each focus on two or three Abilities but are otherwise identical to each other.
Essence of (Element) Resurgent (Path of Primeval Excellency *)
Cost: 4m; Type: Reflexive (Step 4 for attacker, Step 6 for Defender)

This ability is identical to that of the Third Solar Excellency, save that when adding to an unrolled (Attribute + Ability) pool, add (the Dragon King's Path rating) to the total. Thus when using it to improve a static value such as a DV, it adds one-half (the Path rating), rounded up, to the value.
Essence of (Element) Resurgent applies to any of the Abilities associated with its Path, so, for example, Essence of Blazing Fire Resurgent can be used on any roll of Performance, Presence or War. Essence of (Element) Resurgent is not compatible with Essence of (Element) Overwhelming or Essence of (Element) Triumphant.
Essence of (Element) Triumphant (Path of Primeval Excellency **)

When making a roll for any Ability associated with the Path, the Dragon King may spend 3m to add (her Path rating) to the dice pool for the roll. She may also use this ability to increase an unrolled (Attribute + Ability) pool; roll (her Path rating) in dice, and increase the unrolled pool by 2 for every success. Thus when using it to improve a static value such as a DV, it adds one to the value for every success on the roll.
Essence of (Element) Triumphant applies to any of the Abilities associated with its Path, so, for example, Essence of Flickering Fire Triumphant can be used on any roll of Athletics or Melee. Essence of (Element) Triumphant is not compatible with Essence of (Element) Overwhelming or Essence of (Element) Resurgent.
Essence of (Element) Overwhelming (Primeval Excellency ***)

When making a roll for any Ability associated with the path, the Dragon King may add one-half (her Path rating), rounded up, in automatic successes to the roll. If using this ability to increase an unrolled value, apply these successes as though they had been rolled on a use of Essence of (Element) Triumphant. Thus when using it to improve a static value such as a DV, it adds one-half (the Path rating), rounded up, to the value.
Essence of (Element) Overwhelming applies to any of the Abilities associated with its Path, so, for example, Essence of Celestial Air Overwhelming can be used on any roll of Archery, Linguistics or Occult. Essence of (Element) Overwhelming is not compatible with Essence of (Element) Triumphant or Essence of (Element) Resurgent.
Persistance of (Element) (Primeval Excellency ****)

When activating any of the first three abilities on this Path, the Dragon King may choose to add 1wp to the base activation cost to change the Duration to "(Path rating) actions." If she does so, she may gain the benefit of the ability no more than once per tick. The three abilities remain incompatible, however.
Essence of (Element) Infusion (Primeval Excellency *****)

The Dragon King may now use Essence of (Element) Triumphant and Essence of (Element) Overwhelming on the same roll. Doing so, however, still requires a Combo. Any Combo the Dragon King possesses that contains either Essence of (Element) Triumphant or Essence of (Element) Overwhleming is considered to automatically include the other ability at no additional cost. Dragon Kings with this ability may send a single experience point to create Combos of just one of these abilities in order to gain the benefits of Essence of (Element) Infusion if they so desire.
Essence of (Element) Infusion is not compatible with Persistance of (Element). A character who has activated Persistance of (Element) for a particular ability cannot gain the benefits of that ability and any other Path ability for the same roll.
Essence of (Element) Transcendant (Primeval Excellency ******)

The Dragon King as so mastered the intricacies of her Path that she moves beyond the limitations she once faced, leaving them far behind. By doubling the base activation cost of Essence of (Element) Triumphant or Essence of (Element) Overwhelming, she may gain double the usual benefit. If using Essence of (Element) Resurgent, she may double the base activation cost to add (her Path rating) in dice to the reroll, unless she is using iton an unrolled pool, in which case the ordinary benefit is doubled as with the other two abilites.
The ability is not compatible with Essence of (Element) Infusion - choosing to use Essence of (Element) Transcendent on an ability in a Combo precludes the use of any other Essence of (Element) abilities on the same roll. It is, however, compatible with Persistance of (Element). The Willpower cost must be doubled along with the mote cost as usual, though.
