Dark Water Clan

The family known, as the Dark Water Clan is a small family with several prominent terrestrial exalted among its ranks, most of which are predisposed toward the Water dragon. Once a part of the "Lost" house Iselsi, the patriarch of the Dark Water Clan, a skilled sorcerer and, unknown to most, necromancer, feign his own death with the help of certain high ranking members of the bronze faction and moved his family to a secret location somewhere in the Hundred Kingdoms. Here, the family took over an ancient manse from a local spirit, and set them selves up as the undisputed rulers of the spirit's old territory, a peaceful valley, created by an ancient dam, a wonder of the first age. At first the family appeared almost benign if somewhat aloof from its human subjects, and managed to keep little or contact with the world outside the valley. However, as the decades passed by, the family became bored with the peaceful life in the valley and grew more and more jaded and decadent. Soon, the family members would hunt and kill the valley dwellers for sport or abduct them back to their manse, to use them in horrible orgies or dark rituals. What drove the family members mad; is unknown. Maybe it was a curse placed on the dragon blooded exiles by the displaced spirit, maybe it was the patriarch’s research into the dark secrets of the underworld, that tainted the small family, but what is certain is that soon all the members of that small dynast family were barking mad.

As the family began spreading their dark taint beyond the valley, their hideous deeds came to the notice of a wandering hero. Though the young hero looked like a vagabond, dressed in rags, he was one of the anathema ans wielded a golden spear, flowing like the gold of dawn’s first light through the chest of the Patriarch, killing him and ending the tyranny of the mad terrestrials. As the other corrupted dragon blooded fled from the light of the hero, he left them behind. Guided by a voice from deep inside him, he climbed the ancient dam that had held the dark waters back for centuries. Drawing on memories not his own, he woke the ancient machines from their slumber and opened the dam, flooding the valley.

For a long time, after the spear-wielding hero had left the valley, there was no sound across the dark waters, where the valley had once been. Then, three shapes broke the surface, arising out of the darkness of the drowned valley like pale corpses of the drowned. The mother, wife and daughter of the patriarch had called upon their elemental heritage and had hid beneath the dark waters as they consumed the valley. For a long time, they simply floated just beneath the surface, lost and despairing, but then they heard a whisper from the depths, the voice of their master, who they had thought lost. Turning their backs on the world above, they turned and swam down into the darkness.
