This is info specific to the character ofGarden/Ceragan. Once I've gone through the primer and made it more generalised, this will disappear - probably moving to the setting section of the main campaign (once I finally get around to making that, anyway).

Amerlin The city-state of Amerlin lies in the East, on the very edge of the Scavenger Lands, near the confluence of the Yellow River and the Meander River. While not as big as the more central Confederate cities such as Nexus, Great Forks and Lookshy, it is still sizeable, and one of the larger cities in the Far East.

To the North are the rivers, then various kingdoms of the Hundred Kingdoms region. To the East, the picturesque forest of Amerlin turns into fens, and then to a deep swamp that carries on until the far off mountains are reached, some two hundred miles away.

To the South/South-East lies a large Wyld area, and on it’s border, a small shadowland that was created when the Erazani barbarians attacked.

(There have been no further attacks from the barbarians since that time, as far as you can figure from scouting expeditions into the Wyld, your counterstrike weakened them so severely that another tribe from further South was able to destroy/capture/enslave the remnants of the tribe. On the advice of your mentor, Ardent Lion of the Cult of the Illuminated, you have implemented a project or replanting and farming around the borders of the Shadowland which is now slowly shrinking. This coupled with a well-maintained border of salt around the Shadowland prevents any ‘unwelcome visitors’ from the land of the dead.)

To the South lies forest, progressing in to jungles, and to the West lies the Scavenger Lands.

Other things of note in the area: In the past four years the Cult of the Illuminated moved in to Amerlin and set up a temple, here you met Ardent Lion, a Sidereal Exalted who has been tutoring you in the use of your powers and advising you in your efforts to assist the city-state.

There are a few small Realm garrisons in the area, though none within one hundred miles of the city itself, and none with any real power to bring to bear, only one, maybe two Dragon-Blooded at each. The largest Realm outpost within any appreciable distance is Grey Falls, some four hundred miles to the North. As such, the Wyld Hunt isn’t too much of a problem out here, though it’s possible that anything ‘extreme’ would get noticed and cause the Hunt to ride out this far.

Though out of the way, Amerlin is still on a fairly major trade route, the Yellow River. As such there is a guild market permanently set up near the docks, which is attended constantly by a Guild Prince.

Deathlords: As far as you know, the small shadowland nearby is not under the influence of any Deathlord. If it were, then surely it would be more active. In the Scavenger Lands there are two active Deathlords, Walker in Darkness, whose realm is just South of Great Forks, and Mask of Winters, who three years ago took the city of Thorns. There are also rumours of a Deathlord off to the East, beyond the swamps and mountains, but you’ve never seen any activity from that area. Though on your scouting expeditions you have noticed a shadowland off in the swamps, but that’s about 200 miles East of Amerlin.

Your followers: You have three friends that travel with you; Umlik, a war-scarred warrior in his mid-fifties and a man that has been like a father to you since you were young. When your own parents died in a small incursion by Wyld forces, he took you in and brought you up as his own. He used to be a member of the militia, and trained you in combat, but has now retired in order to travel with you. Larik, the son of Umlik, and the closest thing you have to a brother. Also a warrior, he trained alongside you as you grew up and is an excellent sparring partner. Finally there’s Erwin, a twelve-year old boy that you found wandering the forest, apparently having lost his memory. You took him in, and now he assists you with his excellent sneaking and larceny skills.
