Akasha, The Embodiment Of Scope

The Parable Of The Tree

Once, there was a small acorn, which fell from the sky. It landed in a fertile soil, and thought "This will be a lovely spot to take root." For the grasses around it were green and healthy, and the sky was clear - with just a hint of rain - and it was warm. And so, sensing his surroundings, the acorn took root, and he was content.

Gradually, the acorn sprouted, sending roots into the ground and sprouts into the air. And the grasses around him said, "Look. He is as one of us, but greater. Let us take comfort in his shade." And they clustered around the little sprout, and his roots drew forth water for their own, and they were content.

Over time, the sprout grew into a small tree, and birds came to shelter in its leaves. They said, "Look. This tree will shelter us from the hot sun, and the beasts that hunt in the fields. Let us take comfort on his branches." And the tree was happy, and let them freely partake of the nuts growing on his boughs, and thus they were fed and strengthened. And they were content.

The tree grew and its roots spread, and new acorns grew to replace those that were eaten. And the birds carried these acorns, and dropped them across the field, and soon many small saplings dotted the area. And the creatures of the field said, "Look. It is cool, and pleasant beneath these trees, and there is much to eat and enjoy. Let us remain here, far from the baking rays of the sun." And they came together, and fed of the acorns, and burrowed into the spaces between the roots of the trees to make their homes. And they were content.

And the trees grew and spread, until a vast forest of oak covered what had once been a simple plains. And the creatures of the forest spread and multiplied beneath the shade of the trees, and their boughs wove together into a simple canopy, letting through just enough light to let the plants of the ground grow. And the trees joined their thoughts, for all of them were as one. And they were content.
