Spirit Preserving GulletFairFolkFeedingCharms/B>

  • Cost: 10 motes, 2 gossamer
  • Duration: One Story
  • Type: Simple
  • Minimum Cup: 5
  • Minimum Essence: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Soul-Consuming Hunger

Mastering their control over their feeding graces and hunger, the Raksha is able to 'store' any souls they swallow with Soul-Consuming Hunger for later feeding or other nefarious use. The Raksha may tear apart any such preserved soul as a reflexive action, gaining the motes as if they had 'normally' eaten it with Soul-Consuming hunger at no additional cost. Otherwise, they may hold a number of souls up to their Cup+Essence indefinitely.

However, beings able to discern the Fair Folk's true nature (Other raksha, gods, and beings using essence-pattern observing charms) will see a disgustingly distended spiritual 'stomach' on such individuals. Many freeholds and courts consider it unseemly to hold a gullet while in the Middlemarches or holds, and so many raksha are unwilling to take this charm as a mutation.

Note: A mortal soul consumed in this manner counts as 'consenting' and 'dreaming' for any relevent charms.

<B> Intimate Soulstaring Wisdom FairFolkFeedingCharms/B>

  • Cost: 1 gossamer
  • Duration: One story
  • Type: Reflexive
  • Minimum Staff: 3
  • Minimum Essence: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Spirit Preserving Gullet

A Raksha with this charm activated is able to discern the subtleties in the souls they have consumed, and can construct more complex relationships with its 'passengers' than hunter/prey. This charm gives the Raksha access to the following abilities.

  • Spirit Gleaned Intricacies  : For 5 motes, the Raksha can communicate to other creatures through a skein of understanding woven from one of their passenger souls. This gives the Raksha automatic successes on social actions equal to their Staff when dealing with people of the passenger soul's culture, or another social group the soul belonged to. Note, this bonus ceases to apply if the people somehow involved realize that the startling insights into their nature comes from the swallowed soul of one of their fellows.
  • Soul Supped Knowledge  : For 10 motes, the Raksha may use one of their passenger's abilities in place of their own for a scene. Any relevant specialties also apply, and the Raksha does not suffer the normal difficulty penalties for occult or lore actions that Fair Folk normally incur whilst in creation.

<B> Soul Spewing Escape FairFolkFeedingCharms/B>

  • Cost: 5 motes, 0 gossamer
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Reflexive
  • Minimum Staff: 3
  • Minimum Essence: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Soul-Preserving Gullet

The Fair Folk disgorges the entire contents of his gullet into the wyld, distracting opponents or pursuers. The confusion is such that any enemy who wishes to engage the user in a shaping action must sort through the myriad of shrieking, confused souls. Mechanically, they must make a typical check to perceive the wyld to find the raksha, at a difficulty equal to the number of souls released. The raksha using this charm may move to a different waypoint at no penalty, but any offensive actions or charm use will negate the benefits of this charm on the next turn.

The souls themselves are almost helpless in the wyld, able to be shaped and melded at the will of any with the ability and inclination to do so. Should they simply be ignored, they will slowly accumulate derangements and mutations, and some even acquire material bodies again...but at such levels of mutation they are almost never able to reenter creation.

This charm can also be used in creation, though its affects are much less dramatic unless used against hungry ghosts or beings that are perceiving the flow of essence; in either of those cases, if functions identically to its 'normal' use.

These are nifty, and make soul-stealing somewhat more worthwhile, so I definately appreciate them! All in all, very cool. I'm not sure that the "Soul-Supped Knowledge" is really all that impressive of an ability, though. Spriit Gleaned Intricicies is priceless, however!  :D - CrownedSun

Glad you liked them. ^^ Soul Supped Knowledge is more of a secondary effect, as I thought that Spirit Gleaned Intricies wasn't good enough on its own. -LeSquide

Spirit Gleaned Intricacies is a little bit oddly worded, but it's a really cool effect; I suggest "when dealing with people of the passenger soul's culture, or another social group the soul belonged to." - willows

An excellent idea; I fumbled about with the wording a bit before coming up with that kludge, and that flows a lot better. -LeSquide

I hafta jump on the boat and say that Spirit Gleaned Intricacies is damn swell. Not much else I can say 'cept for 'Rock on'. -DarkheartOne
