The Courtier

A being of Desire subverted to Society, a creature that drinks from the Cup while clutching at the Staff. Courtiers use their parasitic arts to alter the fabric of whatever social context they find themselves in. They use their addictive charm to secure for themselves a place at the table. Through petty intrigues and always-mannerly power struggles, they justify their own existence. A socialite who, though honeyed words and subtle deceits, hamstrings a court into pointless fashion obsession would be an example of a Courtier.
