Vengeful Cyclone Invocation

Cost: 2 motes
Duration: See comments
Type: Simple
Minimum Throw: 3
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms:: To be announced upon the return of my DB book

With a quick twist of essence a Terrestrial may envelop a foe in focused vortex of wind which will draw in incoming ranged attacks. When this charm is activated the Exalt makes a Wits + Thrown roll at a difficulty of his target's essence. If successful, all ranged attacks made at that character receive one autmatic success for the duration of this charm.

Mistral's Bite

Cost: 2 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Minimum Throw: 3
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms:: Vengeful Cyclone Invocation

Terrestrials who know this technique are capable of augmenting their attacks with the blood freezing cold of the Elemental Pole of Air. Character's who take damage from an attack supplemented by this charm lose a point of Dexterity. Exalts or mortals with some measure of resistance to the cold are allowed to make a Stamina + Resistance check at a difficulty equal to the character's essence to ignore the attribute loss. Mortals heal one point of Dexterity a day, while Exalts heal one point an hour. Character's reduced to zero dexterity become frozen and are unable to act. Immunity to exreme cold will nullify the effects of this charm.

Deceptive Talons of the Air Dragon

Cost: 3 motes per phantom copy
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Minimum Throw: 4
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms:: Mistral's Bite

Some say the Dragon of Air is the fiercest in combat, not because of the fercocity of its strikes, but because of the rapidity and disorienting effects of its cyclonic strikes. Those who walk in Mela's footsteps learn to fight as their patron does. Once a weapon is thrown, the Exalt unleashes a burst of essence which causes it to explode in a kalaidescopic cloud of swirling fragments only to coalesce moments later into multiple copies of the original attack. For every three motes spent powering this charm a single phantom attack is generated. The maximum number of copies a Terrestrial can create is equal to his essence. These phantom attacks have the same successes to hit as the original but inflict no damage. It is unlikely the defender will know which is the real attack and which are the fakes and will need to split his defenses accordingly. The Dragon Blood determines the order in which the attacks are presented to the defender.

Wings of the Irrepressible Zephyr

Cost: 3 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Minimum Throw: 4
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms:: Deceptive Talons of the Air Dragon

By manipulating air currents a Terrestrial is capable of giving his weapons erratic and confusing flight paths, making them very hard to defend against. Attacks augmented by this charm carreen and deke all over the intervening space before striking their target. Attacks augmented by this charm reduce all rolled defenses to 0 successes after all other modifiers. This charm is less effective against charm aided defenses. In such a case it merely forces the defender to re-roll all defense dice which come up as successes. The result with the least successes is always applied to the attack.

Mela's Favor

Cost: 2 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Throw: 5
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms:: Wings of the Irrepressible Zephyr

It is rumored that Mela learned this charm from the Air Dragon Itself. Knowledge of this technique provides the Exalt with focused control over the air and the things which pass through it. This charm allows the Terrestrial to seize control of any ranged attack that passes within a number of yards equal to twice his essence. If the Exalt simply wishes to re-roll an attack made against the same target, he rolls Dexterity + Thrown + the accuracy of the original attack and replaces the original results. If the character wishes to redirect the attack to a new target, he makes the same roll, but contests against the orginal. If the Exalt wins, the attack is redirected with as many successes as he wins by. If he loses, the attack proceeds to the original target, albeit with the successes reduced by the contested roll.

Changed the name of North Winds Bite to Mistral's Bite. Arranged the first charm into a cascade with these newer ones. About the cascade, not sure which should come first, Deceptive Talons of the Air Dragon, or Wings of the Irrerpressible Zephyr. Regarding the duration of Vengeful Cyclone Invocation, I'm trying to decide between making it a scene long charm or an instant charm that lasts a number of turns equal to the character's essence. - Ambisinister

I think Vengeful Cyclone is too low in the tree to be a scenelong, but it would be nice to have it as one. Um, is Deceptive Talons 2 motes or 3 motes? The stats and description say different things. :) ScrambledValkyrie

It's supposed to be three motes. Thanks for picking that up.-Ambisinister
