Ryshy's Regeneration Rate

Normal Exalted regen rates:

  • Bashing
    • 3 hours per level
  • Lethal
    • 6 hours per -0
    • 2 days per -1
    • 4 days per -2
    • 1 week per -4

Using Body-Mending Meditation and the various SI regen charms, Ryshy has a regen rate of 19x. This means she can recover at a rate of about 10 minutes per bashing level. With a total of 18 health levels, Ryshy can recover from taking her limit in bashing damage in 180 minutes, or 3 hours.

Ryshy's Hearthstone of Life-Storing allows her to take 2B damage to heal 1L, but this requires she has the HLs to spare first. The Hearthstone cannot store more than 6B at a time.

Example: Post-Spire Regen

Assumption: Will not go below 17 HLs of damage, unless losing the 18th will speed up the process. This keeps Ryshy above Incapacitated.

  • Starts with 4B, 13L.
  • Activates BMM.
  • 40 mins to regen 4B. (0B, 13L remain.)
  • Takes 4B. (4B, 13L remain.)
  • Heals 2L. (4B, 11L remain.)
  • 40 mins to regen 4B. (0B, 11L remain.)
  • Takes 6B. (6B, 11L remain.)
  • Heals 3L. (6B, 8L remain.)
  • 60 mins to regen 6B. (0B, 8L remain.)
  • Takes 6B. (6B, 8L remain.)
  • Heals 3L. (6B, 5L remain.)
  • 60 mins to regen 6B. (0B, 5L remain.)
  • Takes 6B. (6B, 5L remain.)
  • Heals 3L. (6B, 2L remain.)
  • 60 mins to regen 6B. (0B, 2L remain.)
  • Takes 4B. (4B, 2L remain.)
  • Heals 2L. (4B, 0L remain.)
  • 40 mins to regen 4B. (0B, 0L remain.)

The total is 300 minutes or 5 hours. Generally, it takes Ryshy [10 x (# of B levels taken) + 20 x (# of L levels taken)] in minutes to regen with her Hearthstone. Actually giving the HLs to the Hearthstone takes only a turn, which is negligible in comparison (3 seconds).

Worst Case (Lethal) Regen

The worst case would be if Ryshy is filled with all L levels, in which case she will need (1 week / 19) or about 8 hours, 51 minutes to regen a -4 and (4 days / 19) or about 5 hours, 3 minutes to heal a -2 (a total of about 13 hours, 54 minutes) before she can start to regen the rest at the rate listed above. This would mean she'd have 16L left, which would take her 320 minutes or 5 hours, 20 minutes to regen.

Therefore, Ryshy's worst case time to regen to full is about 19 hours, 14 minutes -- not even a day! Keep in mind she must knock herself out to Incapacitated to heal her first L level, so it's best she starts regenerating somewhere she can rest safely.

Dragon-Blooded Aid

With a Dragon-Blooded with the proper Medicine charms to aid her, Ryshy's worst case regen time can be cut drastically.

If the DB helper were to convert the worst two of her HLs to bashing to start the regen process, it would cut out the time she needs to regen the -4 and -2 lethal HLs. She would still need to regen the 2B, which would take 20 minutes, and then use the Hearthstone to heal the 16L, which would take 5 hours, 20 minutes. This gives a total of 5 hours, 40 minutes, more than 3 times less than she would take if regenerating alone. (However, Ryshy can achieve this rate alone if she already has 4B stored in her Hearthstone.)

If the DB helper were able to convert all of Ryshy's HLs to bashing (which would require a rate of at least 6 conversions per hour, as it takes Ryshy 1 hour to regen 6B), she would only need to regen her full health levels in bashing damage, which would take her 3 hours to recover from fully. That's over 6 times better than her worst case without the help!

Moral of the story: Dragon-Blooded are awesome helpers. :D

What About Aggravated?

Aggravated damage will take (comparatively) much longer for Ryshy to recover from, as her Hearthstone as it is currently written cannot deal with Aggravated at all. With the SI version of Bodily Regeneration Prana, it would take her the same amount of time as if she had to regen all lethal HLs. Assuming a 19x rate this means:

  • 1 x (1 week / 19) = 1 x (~8 hours, 51 minutes) = ~531 minutes to regen -4
  • 10 x (4 days / 19) = 10 x (~5 hours, 3 minutes) = ~3030 minutes to regen -2
  • 6 x (2 days / 19) = 6 x (~2 hours, 32 minutes) = ~912 minutes to regen -1
  • 1 x (1 day / 19) = 1 x (~1 hour, 16 minutes) = ~76 minutes to regen -0

The total comes to about 4549 minutes, or 3 days, 3 hours and 49 minutes. Again, a DB helper can help cut this time down to lethal regen levels, though it might not be worth it, since each A level requires a WP to convert.
