House Iblan is one of the more finacially securer houses, but is much weaker in its lineage. The house assures its place through large donations to the Despot and funding of his mercenaries in hopes of providing some protection from rival merchants. The head of the Iblan house is Ahkmad Iblan, he runs the house side-by-side with his daughter, Eilya Iblan. He wants to assure she will know what to do if or when he expires and not be reliant upon some foolish man marrying for position in Gem.
Ahlmad lost his wife in a tragic firedust explosion 12 years back and has never let his daughtrer out of his sight since. He is very protective of her and sees to her every wish. This has caused her to develop a self-centered goddess mentality of herself and feels that everyone else does or should have the same respect for her. This mostly explains why she is not married at this time.
