BujiArtifacts/PlatesofBrantford
Concept
- Okay so my initail draft was somewhat over influenced through my creation of a weapon right before I did this one. I am trying to help the character's fill the void left by their Dawn caste but I need to keep focused on what they are good at and not at what they are lacking.
Description
The Plates of Brantford is a set of cloth that mimics a lamellar-style armor. The plates come with bracers, hat, greaves, shirt, breastplate, boots and skirt. The armor is the color of a pure golden sunset and the light dances about it as the cloth shines with the brilliance of the sun itself. A fiery red Hearthstone rests in the hat, the Hearthstone is set within the hat itself.
Upon being donned the plates shift and form fit the character wearing it once Essence has been committed to it. The character seems almost god-like in it and could convince you that they indeed had just stepped from the gates of Yu-shan.

Artifact •••
Lamellar-like armor with minute components of Moonsilver and Orichalcum
Soak 8B/8L, Mobility Penalty: -1, Fatigue Rating: 1
Commitment: 15
Once attuned to the Plates of Brantford the character may spend 3 motes to alter any aspect of the armor. Color, style, accessories, length or any other physical appearance aspect. This change stays in effect until the character wishes to change it or loses attunement to the armor.
At no time will the armor retain dirt. Any mud, dust or liquid that gets upon the wearer will never adhere. This could be a problem if the character tries to pass as a vagrant. If the Hearthstone is active in the armor then the wearer is also provided the comfort of ignoring the aberrant elements, heat, rain and cold are neutralized for the wearer.
If the Hearthstone is not active in the armor it is very Essence draining. The armor then requires 6 motes of Essence to alter any appearances and will constantly retain a golden aura about the wearer and have a silver sheen to the cloth regardless of the color or pattern of the fabric chosen.
The wearer of the Plates of Brantford not only receives a light set of armor but also gains a +4 dots to their Charisma and +2 dots to all Socialize rolls. All social or magical attacks that effect Charisma do not negate the armor's bonus.
<b>Storyteller background:
Here is how I saw the item so you understand the results. It has a power level of 5(soak upgrade of 2 points, -1 Mobility Penalty, +4 Attribute, +2 Socialize), a game influence of 2 (it will make a good difference), Usefulness of 3 (constant activity, limited use), Script Immunity of 3 (have no Dawn caste and will allow character to enter combat instead of watching), Essence drawback of 1 (Essence drawback of 3 but has level 2 Hearthstone, uses 2-3 more motes than it should), Notoriety of 2 (Not known by the general public, but storytellers and historians know its name and properties).
