Blood Descendants Diagnostic
Artifact ••••
A complex tool devised by solar magitech, this device could be used to anticipate the results of a given copulation between two people were they to conceive in the month before ovulation. Defects would be revealed, traits such as potential health, strengths, etc would become known all just by taking a small blood sample from each person.
It could even be used to predict more mystical breedings. In Blooded pairings it can be used to figure out if a child will exalt and at what level of breeding. It can predict results from more spiritual interactions such as between demons and people and creation, gods and creatures in creation, and elementals with such. It can be used to predict beastman results and how fae-bloods would turn out. The one thing it does not predict is ghosts, the Twilight who devised this tool didn't study ghosts at all.
The device looks like a bedestal with a crystal top and on one side a small moonsilver needle. The purple crystal top is placed over a thin starmetal backdrop and the pedestal a mix of green jade and some eastern wood which has since been consumed by the wyld. With the pedestal is a complex set of compenents to do the calculations using a variety of magical metals. It works by committing 5 motes to the device, and having the two to be tested prick themselves on the needle. The screen glows, old realm script and various characters appearing to show the analyzation. The parts involving humans with humans and dragonbloods are easy to understand. The rest would require one to find a workbook detailing its use and explaining what various characters and terms mean.
This device was not common, only a couple made for use by a few genetics altering twilights who knew how to use this artifact for even more complex analyzations of mixing of traits and breeds. One known copy lies in Densador, and though its not really gaurded no one knew what it did or bothered to remove it given the dangers around.
