Black Dog’s Relics (Artifact 5 for the full set, Artifact 2 individually)

These grisly relics are the remains of Black Dog, a petty brigand and thief whose only claim to fame were the circumstances of his death. Upon being captured by the local magistrates, Black Dog was summarily hanged at a nearby crossroads and left to rot. This would have been the end of his story were it not for an unknown Abyssal necromancer who came upon the wind-dried corpse and its attendant hungry ghost. The body was cut down, dismembered and ensorcelled one piece at a time, until the complete set of relics was finished.

by Odin (who didn't bother to put his name on this page and therefore elicited this snarky note from the person who tracked it down)

The Eye (Artifact 2)

The Eye hangs dried and preserved from a thong woven from the sinews of cats, accompanied by a soulsteel nail on a short thong.

By committing a mote of Essence to the nail and plunging it into the Eye, the user may subtract 4 dice from all rolls to detect his presence for the rest of the scene, appearing to blur and shift as if viewed through filthy glass.

The Hand (Artifact 2)

The Hand is a withered, mummified left hand attached to a short iron chain by a soulsteel manacle.

By placing a black candle in each finger and investing the hand with 5 motes, the user may cause all the occupants of a single dwelling, up to the size of a small manor, to fall instantly and deeply into sleep. Essence users may roll Stamina + Essence against a difficulty equal to the user's Essence to resist this effect. If any who resist the magic are in the dwelling, one or more of the candles will refuse to light.

The Skull (Artifact 2)

The Skull has been crafted into an ornate goblet, chased with silver and soulsteel and encrusted with bloodstones and onyx.

By pouring the blood of a sentient being into the goblet and committing 6 motes, a user may gain the use of any Ability the donor possessed for one lunar month or until the committed motes are withdrawn. This cannot raise an ability over trait maximums and only grants the user a number of dots in the ability equal to the donor’s rating in that ability plus any relevant specialties, which replace his current score and specialties for the duration of the effect.

The Rib (Artifact 2)

The Rib is a simple affair, carved with dark runes and sharpened to a wicked point.

By inscribing a circle with the rib and pouring 8 motes of Essence into the circle, the user may call forth the unhallowed dead. One animate skeleton will rise from the circle each turn for a number of turns equal to the user’s permanent Essence. Treat these skeletons as standard extras. The Rib may also be used as dagger in combat with the following stats:

The Femur (Artifact 2)

The Femur has been made into an exquisite mace, with a razor edged soulsteel head and leather wrapped hilt. A great bloodstone adorns the pommel.

The Femur has the following stats, without the soulsteel material bonus, and does piercing damage:
