The Fourfold Yozi-Soul Sutra
Lo, before the Time of Man, the gods Exalted men and women to overthrow their communal oppressors. After this First War, those titans not slain were become Yozi. Less than Primordial, imprisoned in one of their own number and sworn on their very names to serve when called, they were cast out of their Creation. Their oaths were four in number, and were sworn thus:
First, They and theirs would languish in Malfeas unless summoned. The Yozis enforce this upon their fragmentary souls out of spite. The least shall not wander freely while the greatest are bound.
Second, the constituent shardsouls of the Yozis would only heed the beckonings of their peers. Hence, those not of a demon prince, but progeny of it's soul's soul may be commanded by all who have taken second breath. The sevenfold natures of each of a Yozi's souls are the province of Heaven's Chosen; those of the Terrestrial sphere cannot subjugate their will. Finally, only the Sun's champions may call upon one of a demon prince's souls or its fetich, for only they can forge a bridge strong enough to bear its might.
Third, the period of servitude is decided when the demon is summoned. It may be incumbent on the completion of a specified task, or the demon may be indentured for a year and a day.
Fourth, a summoning may only be attempted at inauspicious times. The sight of their foes' minions enrages the Incarna. The Unconquered Sun refuses to bear witness to any leniency towards the Yozis; thus, no demon may be summoned before nightfall. Many of Luna's Chosen were slain by those twice removed from the Yozis, she hides her tears when they near; thus, demons of the Second Circle may only be summoned when no moon graces the night. Even the Maidens, with their knowledge of necessity, cannot condone the presence of a Yozi-Soul; thus, Third Circle demons may only be summoned during the Calibration, when the Maidens reflect on the years' fates. No being, Yozi or Incarna, wishes multiple demons to leave Malfeas simultaneously; thus, the bridge between Creation and Malfeas carries but one demon at a time.

Nifty! I like your logic for the limits on when demons can be summoned. --JohnBiles
