The Fields of Despair

There is an island in the south, a most unusual island. Several square miles, it was once a massive skein of tangled roots stretching near the horizon, and on those roots lay fertile ground - through a quirk of geomancy, the wood demesne floated in the sea, and formed an island of wood rather than stone. The soil was always rich and there were many who lived there, seperate from and unnoticed by the world. /Anesca found this place, and he rewrote the demesne to suit his nature and duties.

Where once the island was a place of hope, a safe retreat from the world, now it consumes hope. The endless tangled roots of wood have become the tangled and rotten veins of Szoreny's darkest corners; the fertile grain the island produces tastes of bile and bleeds when ground.

The manse itself is of little consequence - a sphere of wood etched with symbols burned into it with vitriol, it is hollow and empty and uninhabited, the inside largely filled with a tracery of veins like cobwebs leading to the center of the sphere that contains the hearthstone. This place is a factory for poor mortals who will fight and die over and over, and that is all that Anesca asks of them.

Hearthstone

Rating: 0, Aspect: Wood
The fertility of the land is bounteous, and that fecundity is channeled through this hearthstone. If they spend one willpower while having sex, conception is assured; the childbirth and pregnancy are without complication.

Mutations

Virtue Lost
2 points
The demonic nature of the world seeps into the very spirit of the afflicted, and their virtues are forfeit; their hope is not so much consumed by this mutation as it is discarded. They replace their Valor with Resignation

The Curse of Progeny
4 points
There is a saying among the masked heresiarchs of the labyrinth; mirrors and copulation are abominable, for they both multiply the numbers of men. If that is the case, then surely this place is doubly abominable, for it both multiplies their numbers more than should rightly be. Whenever a person with this mutation becomes pregnant, they bear a litter instead of one child; they roll one die, and give birth to that many children. The difficulty of surviving childbirth is equal to the number of children borne, although the children always survive the ordeal.

Mother's Blood Transfused
Abomination
6 points
The infernal essence of the Fields of Despair seeps into the blood of the living and replaces it with something accursed. A mother with this mutation grants her children inheritance 1 - demon-blooded, unless it is superceded by another, more potent inheritance.
