Cynessitten, The Shapeless Expansion

Cynessitten fell from Anapyxi, and she stopped to speak to it. "You are the most like Chorifa-The-Greater of us all." She walked away, and before she was out of sight, it was spreading across the ground.

Cynessitten is unseen and unheard, quiet and growing unannounced. Few note its presence, and few are aware of what it means. It enmeshes itself with the ground underfoot, and it spreads wildly. There is little limit to where it can go - and there is not necessarily anything for it to do when it gets there. Cynessitten's soul purpose is to grow - it wants to cover the whole world, to spread across all of the lands that there ever have been or will be. It has a chance of this. Cynessitten is in and of the earth - it is of little intelligence, but powerful instinct. It is a mind that builds a body as it moves, spreading and turning the roots of plants and the life of the soil itself to its ends. It is has no body to see, per se, but rather is a new life that the ground takes on. It leaps from root to worm to mite to root, and it spreads rapidly across the land in a massive, ever expanding circle. In the area of ground that has become Cynessitten, plants start to develop a subtle sheen, the light that shines on them seems to be slightly greener than it should be, but there is no negative effect. Indeed, plants that are rooted in Cynessitten's soil grow slightly faster than they otherwise would, lush and full, although they have an unpleasant aftertaste as if slightly rotten, and few willingly eat more after the first few bites.

It does not wish any true harm to the beings that live on it; it rarely even notices them. But it does need them to continue to grow; and so it lures them onto the space it occupies with piles of gorgeous fruit, and consumes their life. Cynessitten knows only that it must grow, and it must end any opposition to this. It's whole being is body; and so plunging a blade into the ground anywhere along it is the same as striking a blow at its very heart. But Cynessitten is not so easy to kill, and will fight back with whips of wood and flung spears of wood from the ground. Cynessitten's main defense is that it is deeply difficult to see. Essence sight will reveal the twisting coils of infernal essence filling the soil, but anything less will not reveal it easily. Sharp noses may detect a faint whiff of decay on the breeze, and those clever in sight will see the world looking unusally lush in his presence, but he is stealthy if nothing else and these signs are hard to identify at best.

Other notes: Cynessitten starts at a diameter of about ten meters, but for every hour that Cynessitten is in creation after arriving or being summoned he gains 1B/1L soak, 1 -0 health level, and his diameter expands by a number of meters equal to how many full days he has been growing. Cynessitten can gain a maximum of 100B/100L soak, 150 health levels, and has no upper cap on size. After the first day, Cynessitten needs to consume life to grow; it must have a subject to steal sustenance from, or it will stop growing until it has one provided. It cannot grow while immaterial. It has hardness equal to one fifth of its lethal soak, rounded up.
Cynessitten's sense domain detects only things on top of its body. It's shapechange allows it to create an avatar to speak with a target of his choice, who is of no consequence and may be killed without causing injury. As an extra cost to use shapechange, Cynessitten must shrink by 1 meter per health level it possesses. Cynessitten's Steal Sustenance takes away much of the target's vigor; victims of it lose all of their temporary willpower, and must make a willpower roll to take any action other than resting. This lasts as long as they stand on Cynessitten. Cynessitten's Donning Spiritual Armor turns small plants on its surface to living emerald; in addition to the soak values, any being standing on grass or an equivalent without excellent footwear will take one die of lethal each turn which may only be soaked with stamina. If Cynessitten uses this charm, then when it is removed or destroyed and plant so affected will die. Cynessitten uses soul rapt to move from place to place if his first site is inauspicious. Cynessitten may use essence bite to hurl spears from the ground, and Affinity element control to grapple a target with vines, or to use them as a whip (as a fighting chain) using his stats.
