Bleeding Moon's Flesh

Description

Some people believe that the name of this artifact is supposed to be poetic...it isn't. The truth is dark and macabre. Years ago, when the Sidereal Chosen of Battles Red Dirja, also known as The Fell Star betrayed the Sidereals to ally herself with the Deathlord First and Forsaken Lion, she was asked by her new master to go forth and perform an act that would prove her undying loyalty to him. She bid her farewell and went to to do as she was ordered, her powerful, lean frame ready to appropriate whatever it is she could find suitable to the Deathlord's request.

Soon after, she found a small village in the east protected by a Lunar Exalt that was treated as their god. He and his beastmen ruled the tribe of barbarians with mercy and benevolence...but did not expect the terrible end that they would all face at the hands of the deranged Sidereal.

She marched upon the village with blood in her eyes, her anima coming to full view as she exploded in a manifestation of Essence, twirling strands of spidersilk-thin strands of power and thrashing the weak barbarians within minutes. The Lunar's children were next as they, too, faced her and fell before her might, her blade slicing through what would normally be considered powerful bodies. Their flesh and bones broke under her blade and she stood, triumphant, over their carcasses. There she maditated for a week and day, awaiting the Lunar Bleeding Moon's return to his precious village.

When he did return, he exploded in fury, rampaging towards her with savage eyes and burning claws of moonsilver. He provided much more of a challenge than the barbarians and his children, his resistance to her attacks much more powerful than the others'. But in the end, there was nothing he could do, as the fate-forged daiklave she wielded dipped into his chest and trasversed him, impaling him into the ground in his wolfman form. She threw him over her shoulder and began the long trek back to the nearest Shadowland to return to the Thousand, to her new Deathlord master.

When she arrived, the Deathlord was impressed--muchly so, and thus decided that not only would he accept her service, but would also forge her a gift from the flesh and blood and soul of Bleeding Moon. He bade a thousand ghosts from the Legion Sanguinary to hunt down the Higher Soul of the defeated Lunar and bring it back to him as he retreated into his citadel to begin the forging. They returned within a month, offering the panicked ghost to the Deathlord. He gripped Bleeding Moon's soul with one hand and drove a soulsteel blade into it, mimicking the deathblow that The Fell Star had killed the Lunar with. Then he forged the soul of the Lunar into soulsteel and threaded it with the flesh and blood, creating this suit of protection for his new servant.

The suit is called Bleeding Moon's Flesh, although the name is slightly deceiving, for not only is it his flesh, but his blood and soul as well. Not enough soulsteel is within it to actually be considered a soulsteel-forged artifact, but once the flesh was sewn (with soulsteel threads) together to fit Red Dirja's body (including boots and gauntlets) it was drenched and left to soak in a pool of the Lunar's blood for three months. Once it was ripe, the Deathlord pulled it from it's bath and held it to the Sidereal traitor, offering it to her as a gift. She accepted it gladly.

System

The effects of Bleeding Moon's Flesh are many, all dedicated to protecting Red Dirja from harm in all ways.

  • It provides a bonus of +9 Bashing and Lethal soak.
  • The wearer's Aggravated soak is now equal to her Lethal soak (re: Halved Stamina + 9).
  • Bleeding Moon's Flesh carries no Fatigue value and no Mobility Penalty.
  • Charms that are normally unavailable while wearing armor (such as most Martial Arts) are not hampered by this suit.
  • It has a Hearthstone setting right under the neck area.
  • Bleeding Moon's Flesh costs 10 motes to attune.

Commentary

I note that it is also an acronym for "Bad Mother F**ker"... - MelWong

You really need to work on giving your stuff links to other sites or else its impossible to find just looking around the Wiki. And frustrating to get back to other places from your stuff since it's located on subpages of your UserPage instead of subpages of the topics. Just a general note - Telgar
