Stunning Orator Method
Cost: 2 motes per success
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Minimum Performance: 2
Minimum Essence: 1
Prerequisite Charms: None

The Exalt fills her words with intense power and her voice resonates into the very soul of her audience. To use this Charm, the character must be making a speech. The player first makes a regular Charisma or Manipulation + Performance roll for the character. Then, the player may "buy" additional successes, up to (the character's permanent Essence rating + the number of successes rolled on her Performance roll). Each success bought in this fashion costs 2 motes of Essence. This Charm is considered a basic success-buying Performance Charm and is not compatible with similar Charms for different modes of Performance.

In Second Edition, this Charm is quite different:

Cost: 5m; Mins: Performance 4, Essence 3; Type: Simple
Keywords: Combo-OK, Cripping
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Heart-Compelling Method, Master Orator Trance

The Exalt fills her words with intense power and her voice condemns those who dare to stand against her. The harshness of the Chosen's rebuke is felt in scorching remonstrance in the very soul of those who hear her. After activating this roll, the Solar makes an ordinary (Attribute) + Performance social attack. Compare the Solar's successes against the MDV of audience members, or in the case of Extras, their average MDV. The Solar then rolls twice her Charisma in dice. For each success, those whose MDV was not larger suffer a -1 die and DV Crippling penalty to all dice pools and static values for up to the Solar's Performance x3 in long ticks. This Charm has no affect on those who are willingly and consciously allied to the Solar.

Irresistible Heavenly Invitation
Cost: 15 motes, 1 Willpower.
Duration: One Scene
Type: Simple
Minimum Performance: 5
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Divine Performance Style, Heart-Compelling Method

The compelling power of an Exalt who uses this charm is almost completely irresistible to all who hear her siren song, listen to her enchanting music, or watch her hypnotic dance. The Solar may lead the dance by song, music, or dancing herself, but must participate. Once activated, this Charm resonates with the mental Essences of all observers within a range of the Exalt's permanent Essence times 10 yards. Even those without the relevant sensory capabilities will be ensnared by the mesmerizing patterns of Essence. The Solar's player makes a Manipulation + Performance roll. The number of successes she achieves is the difficulty of the willpower roll to avoid dancing.

While dancing, it will be virtually impossible to perform other actions. Beings with Willpower less than less than the Solar's Essence will be utterly unable to perform any other actions beyond dancing unless actively attacked (which breaks the Charm's effects, but leaves them with only reflexive actions for that turn, beyond an abort to full dodge). Beings with Willpower less than twice the Solar's Essence may spend a Willpower point to make another action, but must perform it with the dance, and are therefore limited in the applicable Ability; they may not use more dots in the applicable Ability than they have dots in Performance. Beings with a Willpower greater than or equal to twice the Solar's Essence may take any action they please, but are similarly limited to the bonds of the performance. Dancers must follow the Solar to the best of their ability, and may not leave the circle until the end of the Charm. Attacking anyone affected by the Charm instantly ends its effects for that person; beings with less Willpower than the Solar has Essence are affected as above.

In Second Edition, this Charm is Social, Combo-OK, and Compulsion. Instead of a Willpower roll, the Solar's Manipulation + Performance roll is treated as an unblockable Social attack (and thus generally against dodge MDV). A target resists if their MDV is higher than the number of successes rolled by the Solar. There is no differential effect with Willpower vs. Essence; all targets are affected as above for beings with Willpower less than the Solar's Essence. However, any target may spend 1 Willpower to make a non-dancing, non-defensive action within the context of the dance, or 3 Willpower to break the dance's hold entirely. Willpower spent to make an action within the context of the dance does not accumulate or otherwise count towards the latter expenditure.

Masterful Performance Exercise
Cost: 5m; Mins: Performance 4, Essence 3; Type: Simple (DV -0)
Keywords: Combo-OK, Social, Emotion
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Respect-Commanding Attitude

The Lawgiver's amazing words, dance, or instrumental talent become so inspiring as to grace those who hear it with overwhelming emotion that drives them to act upon it. The Solar chooses an emotion-- such love or anger-- and makes an ordinary (Manipulation or Charisma) + Performance social attack, which may carry the usual effects. Any character whose MDV is insufficient to block the Solar's social attack-- regardless of whether or not they choose to spend a willpower point to disregard the base social attack-- gains an Intimacy to her chosen emotion. This is a magical Intimacy and does not count against the normal limit of Intimacies a character may have. It may be eroded as any other Intimacy, and the character gains the same benefits and limitations as with normal Intimacies.

Divine Performance Style
Cost: --; Mins: Performance 5, Essence 5; Type: Permanent
Keywords: None.
Prerequisite Charms: Husband-Seducing Demon Dance

The Solar's hypnotic performance capabilities reach new heights. The celestial harmonies of the Solar's shard infuse his speech or movement with a powerful, almost addictive quality, aimed at a single target. The Solar's dance is completely for that person-- and soon, that person's will shall become the Solar's. When performing a Husband-Seducing Demon Dance, the Solar may commit 10 extra motes for that charm. If the Lawgiver does so, he gains an additional attack that can be targeted at any one individual in her audience.

This additional attack is rolled as Charisma + Performance and is unblockable. If the Solar succeeds, record how many successes he gains over the target's MDV (usually integrity MDV). For a number of days equal to the Solar's threshold successes, reduce all of the target's MDVs against the Solar by the Solar's Performance. If the Solar's Essence + Performance is higher than the target's dodge MDV, the target is considered to be in utter thrall to the Solar. For the duration of the effect, rewrite the target's Motivation to be "to please (the Solar who performed the Charm)" and give them an Intimacy to the Solar if they do not already have one.

Either effect is an unnatural compulsion (and thus gains that Keyword) that can be negated for one day by spending a Willpower point, but the Charm is not completely negated until its duration ends or the target has spent 10 willpower points in this fashion. Both effects are in addition to the base effect of Husband-Seducing Demon Dance, which is considered automatically successful if the Divine Performance Style attack succeeds.

Masterly Demeanor Method
Cost: --; Mins: Performance 4, Essence 4; Type: Permanent
Keywords: None
Prerequisite Charms: Respect Commanding Attitude

Once a Solar has commanded the respect of her lessers, it is not hard to press them from respect to obedience. The character may expend a willpower point when activating Respect Commanding Attitude to gain bonus successes equal to her permanent Essence to any Performance rolls that affect those affected by Respect Commanding Attitude.

Heart-Binding Technique
Cost: --; Mins: Performance 5, Essence 3; Type: Permanent
Keywords: None
Prerequisite Charms: Heart-Compelling Method

As the Solar develops better techniques to inspire others, he learns how to make that inspiration lasting. This Charm modifies its prerequisite. When using Heart-Compelling Method, the Solar may opt to spend twice the normal essence but make the Duration of the Charm instant. This changes the Charm's effects so that the emotion lingers in the hearts of the targets. While the motes are only committed for a moment, the unnatural mental influence lasts for 1 hour per successes the character has in excess of a given target's MDV. At Essence 5, the emotion may drive targets hauntingly through waking and sleeping; the targets will feel the sharp influence of the chosen emotion for days equal to excess successes.

Golden Remembrance Grasp
Cost: --; Mins: Performance 5, Essence 5; Type: Permanent
Keywords: None
Prerequisite Charms: Memory-Reweaving Discipline

Once a Lawgiver has dictated belief, that belief is stronger than steel or jade. The Solar's words can fix memories in the minds of a target, or dedication to a belief may inspire new converts to drive themselves beyond the limitations of their bodies and minds. This Charm greatly increases the tenacity of its prerequisite. Add the Solar's highest Virtue to any MDV pools (prior to halving) for attempts to convince targets to break their new beliefs. Furthermore, the target must succeed on a willpower roll against a difficulty equal to said highest Virtue before any attempt to break commitment.
