I agree.  Of course, the martial artists are going to hate this.  Then again, Martial Arts is already overpowered, IMHO.  But that's a debate for the AreMartialArtsUber page.  - [[Toram]]

Uh, guys, the reason the fist is speed +0 is because it is the base for the entire Speed system. You do realize that, right? - Epsilon

You don't need to have a weapon with a speed of 0 in the system to have a system. The scale can be whatever you want, as long as it's consistent. You just need to decide, for example, how much "faster" a spear is than a sword and then go from there. I personally will probably use the official revisions (once I actually receive the thrice-damned Players Guide!), but MF's suggestion is not that off base. I would just worry about making Fists and Kicks too similar to eachother.

Actually, I'd probably rename those two attacks to "Light" and "Strong" or something neutral like that, which seems to better reflect their natures. -Kicker

Why, exactly, would a gauntlet that you wear on your hand have a reach that's six points worse than a bare fist? The base of the new Speed system is clearly the knife, which is, and should remain, +0. --MF
