This is mostly just a hunch, but this seems like more than a level 2. That's an awful lot of +Everything for a level two, and I'm having a hard time getting the math (as per the errata) to work. I'd say just go ahead and make this a level three or four artifact and it's no problem. -EJGRgunner
Well here is my math, it worked out as far as I could tell.
Basic Level 2 Artifact Weapon\\ Speed +0\\ Accuracy +0\\ Damage +8L\\ Defense +0\\ Min Str 2\\ Commitment 5
Add Melee requirement +1 to damage\\ Add Dex requirement +1 to damage\\ Increase Commitment Cost by 2 levels (to 10m) +2 to damage\\ +6 to speed = -3 to Damage\\ +3 to accuracy = -3 to Damage\\ +3 to Defense = -3 to Damage
Unless Increasing the Commitment cost is supposed to increase the artifact level it should still be level 2. - Malikai
I went and tried creating the same item with the Rules over at DariusSolluman/RevisedArtifactCreation and it came out almost exactly the same. With another plus one to Defense Actually.
Base Item: Slashing Sword\\ Artifact 2\\ 8 bp and 2 gifts\\ Spd +6(2), Acc +3(6), Dmg +5L(10), Def +4(4), Min Str 1, Commitment 7\\ Gifts: Hearthstone Slot, Terrifying Might (+2 bp)\\ Flaws: Inefficent lvl 2 (+2 bp) Total Points: 22\\ - Malikai
Malikai, I add it up and it looks like you should have a total of 12 points and 2 gifts to spend on this artifact. By my count, you've spent 16 points and 2 gifts. Am I missing something? - SilverMeerKat
Slasshing sword base Item (spd +3(1), Acc +1(2), Dmg +2L(4), Def +1(1)) 8 points, Artifact Mods (Spd +3(1), Acc +2(4), Dmg +3L(6), Def +3(3)) 15 points......crap, you're right. before he switched the system a bit, each time you too inefficent it increased the attunement cost by 1 artifact level and gave 2 build points. when I stripped off the inefficent bp to bring it down, I guess I didn't Take off enough stuff. If I take off another point of damage and a point of defense that should make it okay. Thanks for catching that. - Malikai
This artifact is slightly overpowered. The Reaper Daiklave has nearly identical stats (one less speed, 2 less commitment, no hearthstone slot) and is artifact two. Up the stats some more and make it an art3 slashing sword. -- DODurden
As I said on one of the others, these Desgins were made Pre-Player's guide, that's why it doesn't have a rate stat. - Malikai
