Ashen Vengeance
Song of Seven Willows, the joyous chronicler, writes:
What few facts remain unsullied by the march of time state that the Yozi, She Who Lives In Her Name, ordered the creation of this blade herself. A soulsteel reaper daiklaive of unsurpassed quality, it was forged in Malfeas shortly after the Primordial War, using some of the ashes from the parts of Creation that the Yozi destroyed before being placed within her prison. It took years to fully complete, and though the exact year of its completion is unknown, the details of its creation are known well by those who remember the blade.
Ashen Vengeance was cooled for the last time during Calibration, when its glowing blade was plunged deep into the belly of Dreaming Steel, the general that led the last great onslaught against the primordials. Legend states that it was his blood that caused the soulsteel to turn a deep crimson, although most scholars agree the color is most likely a superficial detail requested by the Yozi.
The ominous daiklaive only shows up in history a few times, always when cutting bloody order out of chaos. Its last known location was in the deep southwest, shortly following the Great Contagion. An Anathema calling himself Blade of the Mountains slaughtered both dying peasants and Wyldlings alike before finally being overcome by the Fair Folk armies.
It is rumored that the fabled blade is now in the hands of the Fair Folk, and what plans they might have for such a powerful weapon remain unknown.
