In the first age there was a great Twilight craftsman by the name of Woolvett. He specialised in trinkets and gadgets that were more interesting than powerful, becoming a household name throughout Creation because of the utility and quirkiness of his devices. However he did, on occassion, take commissions from his friends, and others if he found their ideas interesting, and built weapons and armour.
The Cor'dovienya is one such project. Commissioned by the Night Caste Solar, Leoric Silverkin, to aid him in his work across Creation, Cor'dovienya is a set of paired orichalcum daggers that border on being short swords in length. They each have a hearthstone setting in the blade, as well as a string of ornate runic carvings which glow with a bright gold light when the weilder's anima banner is alight. The two daggers, Al'Cairnei and Valdar Cuebiyari, whilst being functionally identical have different powers, and further, extended powers when used as a pair.
Al'Cairnei\\ For a further 3 motes commitment, the weilder may create a spiritual bond with up to his Essence in people. This may be done more than once, giving more bonds, but only up to Essence number of times. All bonds are cancelled when the dagger is deattuned, the weilder chooses to cancel the commitment, or the weilder dies. If a participant of the bond who is not the weilder should die, then only that bond is broken and all the others remain intact. The bonds are two-way, between the weilder and the individual participants, however they confer no bonuses between participants. Whilst under the effect of this bond, the weilder of the dagger gains a 3 dice bonus to leadership rolls targetted at the people he is bonded to. Bonds can only be created with willing participants.
Valdar Cuebiyari\\ For the cost of 2 motes, the character may use a full parry with their entire pool for each parry. This applies to Valdar Cuebiyari only, any weapons weilded alongside it use the normal penalties associated with full parries. This effect is still limited by rate.
Cor'dovienya\\ When both daggers are weilded together they provide extra powers that are not available when only one dagger is held. Any time the daggers are used for a special, flashy manuever, the wielder gets 2 extra dice added to his roll. These dice only apply to succeeding at a fancy manuever, such as carving initials in someone's coat, or slicing and peeling a tossed apple before it hits the ground. These successes never add to damage, or to any action that directly aids combat (such as disarming attempts). Also, any uses of the daggers that 'shows off' grants the weilder a +1 bonus to any roll involving impressing an audience.
Notes
Those of you who have seen Mailanka's Orichalcum Weapons will probably recognise the joint powers of Cor'dovienya as being pulled practically straight from his "Raptor's Glory" Daiklave. I saw that the other day, and it was so appropriate for the character that owns these that I had to steal it. So props to Mailanka for that part.
I'm never very good at working out what level something should be, I'm thinking this is probably more of a 3 (which is actually what I intended) but I really have no idea. It's not too big an issue if they're under or overpowered because the idea of these is that they're sort of upgradable. Some of you may remember an idea on the White Wolf forums about having runed items, and as you fulfil certain conditions more of the runes activate and the item gets more powerful. That's what I'm planning with these, they have the potential to get a lot more powerful.
Comments appreciated though.
