Sorcerer's Visor
Artifact 2 -- by BrilliantRain
Similar in appearance to the more common Essence-Scrying Visor, the Sorcerer's Visor is designed to analyse essence, rather than using it to cut through visual hazards. By activating the visor for a scene by spending 3 motes of essence, the visor will overlay the various essence flows in the area over the normal view as well as providing informational readouts on them. This gives the following benifits:
- Dematerialized spirits are visible to the wearer.
- The wearer may, with a sucessful Perception+Occult roll, recognize any charm or spell that they have seen before, as it is being activated. A similar roll (at a difficulty of the number of hours after the spell has finished -(2+the circle of the spell)) can be made to detect spells after they have been cast from lingering traces of essence.
- The in depth viewing of a Demesine over the course of a day counts as having surveyed the Demesine for the purposes of building a manse on the site. You must still make the normal survey roll.
- When used to examine a Manse, it gives a +2 die bonus to any rolls to repair or break the manse.
- Anything else that the ST thinks would be a legitamate use of being able to directly view ambient essence (mostly this is for nifty stunts)
- The large amount of information given by these goggles can be distracting. Whenever they are activated all perception rolls not relating to examining essence flows suffer a +1 difficulty.
These cost 2m to attune and will automatically resize to fit the wearer. Should the attuned wearer have vision problems, they will act as glasses for no essence cost.

I like it. Simple yet incredibly useful for sorcerers. I like the fact that you put in the +1 diff to all other perception rolls. That balances it quite well. Maybe put some wits or perception minimum to use them without a penalty. But all in all I like it alot. ~ Insanewizard
