Hearthstone Bud
Commitment: None
- Debatably actually an artifact, most that have a hearthstone bud are happy they aren't aware of the creation process. Hearthstone Buds are the result of Neomah empowered crossbreeding of a Desert Basilik and a Snakebud Tree. The resultant creation lacks the functional stone of the Desert Basilik but can be safely harvested using a stomach bottle bug for the vestigial socket. Once harvested the socket can be surgically implanted into the potential owner. This implant can be easily done with a stomach bottle bug or can be manually completed as follows.
- Surgery: 30/5 hours/4/3
- The final result is an organic hearthstone socket implanted somewhere on the new owner's body, the forearms, chest, forehead or biceps are all popular choices.
Keystone Acceptor
Commitment: Special
- Keystone Acceptors are a supplementary artifact designed to by used with Spell Bead Keystones and placed into an attuned Hearthstone Socket. In this way they are similar to Aegis Inset Amulets and in fact have a similar exterior make up to that Artifact. The Interior is a complicated array of prayer inscribed crystal and sorcerously relevant jade lines of power.
Spell Bead Keystones
Commitment: Special
- Spell Bead Keytstones, of simply spellbeads were designed to simplifiy and in someways enhance the utility of sorcery in combat. While originally intended to be used with the Claw and Body spells the idea could in theory be adapted for use with any terrestrial spell. These items were designed by Mnemon Keryn.
- Spellbeads are created through a complicated process that culminates in the inscription of the Iconized (through the dragon-blood crafts-linguistics charm) spell upon the surface of a pure bead of single element jade according to arcane principles of aesthetic balance.
- Useless by themselves spellbeads need to be placed in a Keystone Acceptor and a Hearthstone Socket in order to function. When in proper place the spellbead allows the wearer to use the inscribed spell without the base sorcerous knowledge or the shaping action. The spell may be activated reflexively as a non-charm action but still has all the usual costs of the spell including the willpower.
