The Solar Exalted are perfect in every way, capable of unsurpassed excellence in any and all tasks. However, they so transcend the base materials of the physical world that the trappings of Creation drag them down, limit them. It is for this reason that many Lawgivers choose to manifest the tools and weapons they need from their own flawless Essence. However, not every Solar Exalted who valued his versatility chose to take that path. A perfect warrior deserves appropriate trappings; he would do well to have a Perfect Companion by his side.
The Perfect Companion is an elegant two-sided blade of orichalcum with moonsilver accents. Its hilt (containing a single Hearthstone socket) is located in between the two 15-inch blades that curve back to form a shallow C-shape. Overtly, it appears to be an eccentric sword, and it may be wielded this way. However, this is only a hint of its true power. If thrown, the weapon will cut through the air with the grace of a predatory bird before returning to the wielder's hand. With a thought, the Companion's holder may cause a thin, supple moonsilver wire to extend between the tips of the two blades, allowing the weapon to be used as a bow. The wire can also be used to ensnare foes, lashing out to tangle their limbs. Finally, for those who prefer to fight with paired blades, the sword can be split in two along the hilt. The only limit to its functionality is the ingenuity of the weapon's master.
The Perfect Companion must be made of orichalcum and provides no additional magical material bonus. It can only be used by one who is attuned to its orichalcum. Depending on function (whether being used as a sword, bow, boomerang, or clinching aid), the Companion uses a different set of statistics, but it embodies all these functions at once and so does not need to "switch". Furthermore, it is highly effective at other tasks, and grants a +1 equipment bonus to any task in which it could plausibly be used as a tool or any non-combative stunt in which it plays a significant role.
