Evil Children Cascade

Note: Check out my Abyssal Lore for a Charm to provide extra benefits with these Charms.

A Touch of Death</b>
 <b>Cost: 7 motes
 Duration: 9 Months
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Lore: 2
 Minimum Medicine: 3
 Minimum Essence: 2
 Prerequisite Charms: Radiant Blight Technique

An Abyssal Exalt may use this charm to ensure that a given child will be born with the touch of death. By pouring a bit of his Essence into a pregnant mother, and keeping that Essence committed until the child is brought to term, the resulting baby will have many of the markers of someone born in a Shadowland, regardless of their actual home.
At the Storyteller’s discretion, such children may also be considered better candidates for Abyssal Exaltation later in life. The Abyssal gains a point of Resonance for using this Charm.
Obviously, this charm cannot affect men.

Irresistible Shadow Soul</b>
 <b>Cost: 10 motes, 1 Willpower
 Duration: 9 Months
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Lore: 3
 Minimum Medicine: 3
 Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: A Touch of Death, Wound Absorbing Method

This Charm produces the same results as A Touch of Death, but does not require the mother to already be pregnant. The Abyssal must touch his victim to activate this Charm. The mother becomes pregnant with a Shadowlands child. Essence spent to activate this charm remains committed until the child is born.
Since the Abyssal has technically sired a child with a living being, apply any and all Resonance as normal. Beings with awakened Essence (other Exalts, God-Bloods with the Awakened Essence Merit) may roll their Essence + Inheritance against the Abyssals’ Essence + Resonance to reject the pregnancy.
Men, not being able to catch pregnant, are safe from this Charm. Unless your ST decides to be evil.

Life into Death</b>
 <b>Cost: 10 motes, 2+ XP
 Duration: Instant
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Lore: 4
 Minimum Medicine: 5
 Minimum Essence: 3
 Prerequisite Charms: Irresistible Shadow Soul

Bringing death to the world is not often a task for one man alone; with that mindset, the Deathlords have granted their servants an edge in creating more suitable slaves. By use of this charm, the Abyssal may magically grant a Half-Caste pregnancy to a suitable victim.
If the mother-to-be is a mortal, the Charm costs 2 XP plus the motes required. If the mother is a being with awakened Essence, the charm may instead be used to ensure the child is a Shadewalker, regardless of the other parent’s Essence or type. Using the Charm in this fashion costs 2 XP per dot of Essence the Abyssal would require to “beat” the other magical parent’s Essence.
Beings with awakened Essence may resist this Charm with their Essence, as with Irresistible Shadow Soul.
As with the previous Charms, Life into Death won’t work on males, unless your ST is particularly strange.

Birthing the Beast</b>
 <b>Cost: 15 motes, 3 XP
 Duration: Instant
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Lore: 5
 Minimum Medicine: 5
 Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Life in Death, Contamination of Spirit

The ultimate expression of the Abyssal’s power over as-yet unborn life, Birthing the Beast allows the Abyssal to tear the P’o from a still living being, give it form, and ensure it is a part of Creation.
The victim’s Conviction and Valor drop to 1 during the pregnancy – as the aggressive part of themselves has been put to other purposes – and she suffers horrible nightmares every time she sleeps.
The P’o gestates like a normal child appropriate to its type until labor begins, at which point it tears its way out of the mother. Mortal mothers always die, while hardier folk may, at the ST’s decision, receive a Stamina + Endurance roll to survive the experience.
Beings with an awakened Essence pool may resist this Charm with an Essence + Inheritance roll against the Abyssal’s Essence + Resonance. Other Exalts are immune to this Charm.
The creature created through this charm is known as a Shade-Beast, and counts as a 3 point Familiar for the Abyssal. It is flesh and blood, and bears visible resemblance to both its “parents,” but automatically has an Appearance of 0, due to hideous extrusions and mutations.
The Shade-Beast’s statistics are figured with the method for Hungry Ghost Generation on page 61-62 of Exalted: The Abyssals, using the mother’s base statistics and calculated as if its Essence were the Abyssal’s Permanent Essence + the mother’s Permanent Essence.
The Shade-Beast is often slavishly loyal to its father, but some exceptions may exist, and if the father dies, the creature goes free to perform whatever acts of depravity it desires.
Unlike the other Charms in this tree, Birthing the Beast does function on males, not being dependant on a physical womb. They still look pregnant, however. Also note that with all these Charms, the use of “Father” should not be taken to mean female Abyssals can’t learn and use these Charms.

Other Medicine Charms

Vengeful Blood Technique</b>
<b>Cost: 3 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Min. Medicine: 4
Min. Essence: 2
Prereqs: Crimson Waterfall Method

The Wyld Hunt is a fearsome thing indeed, coming as it does to break the will and bodies of the Anathema; their blades and bodies are honed to perfection for the single purpose of putting an end to the Celestial scourge. For an Abyssal who has developed this Charm, however, the Hunt is sure to take as much damage as they dish out. The Abyssal may fall, but even in death he may bring more suffering.
If the Abyssal is hit with an attack that deals Lethal damage, and suffers at least one health level of damage once all factors have been taken into account, he may activate this Charm. The blood shooting from the wound is changed by the magic into a hideously corrosive acid. The Abyssal then rolls his Permanent Essence. For each success on this roll, reduce the weapon of his attacker's damage bonus by -1 lethal. This Charm can reduce the effective damage of the weapon into the negatives. If the attack was a Martial Arts or Brawl attack that somehow does Lethal Damage, the number of successes are applied as Lethal damage to the attacker, instead.
Vengeful Blood Technique is explicitly allowed to be in a Combo with Charms of other abilities.

Heart of Glass Meditation</b>
<b>Cost: None
Duration: Permanent
Type: Special
Min. Medicine: 5
Min. Endurance: 4
Min. Essence: 4
Prereqs: Vengeful Blood Technique, Insensible Corpse Technique

Long hours spent meditating on the ultimate task of every Abyssal produces a strange effect; the Exalt's body begins to change itself, rewriting his physique to be better suited to his task. He may become more beautiful, a chillingly attractive representative of death in all it's glory, or he may become incredibly hideous, a breathing testament to the power of decay.
Further meditation may bring on even greater changes. A heart long blasted by hatred and despair soon loses much of its ability to love and to feel, turning first to stone, then finally to glass. Burning with the rage of the Malfeans, his blood responds, thickening into corrosive acid, so much so that their fire burns through his whole body.
Once this Charm has been taken, the Abyssal gains a number of benefits. Due to being distanced from his emotions, the difficulty of all Compassion and Valor rolls to require a character to behave in a given fashion increases by +1, while Valor rolls for resisting fear, or Temperance rolls for maintaining Self-Control enjoy one automatic success. The Charm's final function confers the benefits of Vengeful Blood Technique, above, but the Charm is considered to always be on. The Abyssal most explicitly may not turn off this Charm, so simple things like sharing blood with ghosts effectively become means of torture rather than potential pleasure.
