Motivation:
Atypically for the children of Luna, Benevolent Hunger feels that the realm is a net positive. She knows the things that prey on the world, and feels that it takes greater power than ragtag civilizations to defend it. She will seek to protect the realm against both external foes such as the lintha or armies of the dead, and against internal ones like corrupt admirals or traitors. That the Realm hates her for her exalted nature is not of great concern to her, and is something that can be sorted out when the world is safe - after all, she can always hide from the hunts until the time is right.

Intimacies:
Hatred for the Lintha - Hunger loathes the Lintha and will always endorse any plan that involves destroying them. They are the one group that she feels right to exempt from compassion.
The Silver Pact - The pact took in Hunger and taught her how to be a lunar, in particular one no moon to follow.
Zoni Ten Claws - The bear totem no moon who tatooed her, Zoni shares Hunger's general compassion and desire to do good by people, while being perhaps more ruthless.
An-Teng - Hunger likes the nation she was raised in, and will seek to defend it when possible.
Her Mother - Hunger's mother still lives; she has not told her of her exalted nature, and instead told her that she was going to work with the immaculates in Chiaroscuro, where her help is so much more required. She feels very close to the woman, and will help her whenever she can.

History and personality

Benevolent Hunger was a child of An-Teng. That comparatively happy kingdom gave her a good family of comfortable wealth and a comparatively uneventful childhood. Her father was a member of the An-Teng merchant marine, and she loved him dearly; she in turn was loved by most of the folk of the town she grew up in. Her life was uneventful until the Lintha pirates, part demon marauding monsters of the sea, seized her father's ship; he was never heard from again. Still, Benevolent Hunger, or Shani, as she was known then, had support; she and her mother helped each other through their loss, and their relatives were generous. She devoted her life to charity, and tried to give back to the community that had supported her when she needed it. Most of all, she worked with the immaculates, and believed in the Realm - they had helped defend the people of An-Teng, and the deacons she worked with were kind and caring to the poor of the nation. Of course, not everything can last forever - as the Peleps navies have pulled back in recent years, the Lintha grew strong; when they raided shorelines of An-Teng, Shani was taken. The Lintha tortured her, and as she resisted them, she felt the moonlight fill her blood, and Luna whispered into her ear that she was meant to persevere. She glowed with the light of the moon in the Lintha hold, but none of her new powers let her escape. It was not until a Peleps ship intercepted the pirates and freed her that Benevolent Hunger was freed; this turn of events she took as Luna's imprimatur on her beliefs - that the realm must be strong, and that it will hold the walls of the world, given the right hand at the tiller. That the realm must be improved, freed of corruption and pettiness, and made the bulwark of the world.

It was much to Benevolent Hunger's surprise when, after a time with the No-Moons finding herself, she entered the world - and immediately encountered a Peleps admiral who was selling Lintha information on the defenses of Satrapies, the better to weaken the economic holdings of other houses. She decided immediately what to do - she travelled to the lap, and consumed his son's heart during a hunting expedition. The boy exalted as a solar at the last moment, but Benevolent Hunger felt that she must, regrettably, kill him, the better to reach his father. And there was no way that a newly exalted solar could defeat her more practiced killing arts, though she did always regret using them. Now, she is on the Archipelago Conundrum, sailing the west. She wears Orichalcum hearthstone bracers that she stole from the boy's home unattuned, and leaves them loosely swaddled in cloth so that viewers occasionally see the chunks of golden metal. She lets rumors slip out of her powers, so that Peleps Saratti's father will have to investigate himself, to spare any possible family shame - and then she will strike and protect the realm from itself, cutting away corruption one piece at a time.

Expanded Backgrounds

Crimson Bow (Oedenal's Codex)- The Crimson Bow is an inordinately (some might say ridiculously unbalancedly) powerful weapon. An ancient artifact that Benevolent Hunger was granted by the No Moon mentor that fixed her caste, the bolts of the Crimson Bow are automatically perfect attacks. Which is stupid, but canon, so who am I to argue? It also may strike immaterial creatures and deal aggravated damage for four motes per shot, because that wasn't powerful enough already. Sigh.
Heart's Blood - Benevolent Hunger has ten different forms she can take. The only human form besides her true shape is that of Peleps Sarrati, spoiled dynast. Her most physically powerful shape is a Raptor Cat, a half-lizard tiger with remarkable killing power. She has eight other forms with varying capabilities; several different birds, a stray mutt, a sand swimmer, a small shark and and a medium sized koi, and a gazelle.

Playing Tips

Benevolent Hunger is trying to pass as a newly exalted solar in dynast's clothing. She will use non-obvious charms as much as possible; luckily, her attribute excellencies are versatile while non-obvious and don't betray her type. If trouble becomes serious, she can activate Relentless Lunar Fury to gain the benefits of Golden Tiger Stance and Might Bolstering Blow - she will reduce her DV penalties and regain essence from successful attacks. The surety of success that comes from the golden bow will only make this more powerful, allowing her to spend more on excellencies than otherwise. If battling other exalts, Cobra Hypnotic Method will allow her to either get in a sneak attack or burn through their willpower supplies. Given her combination of Relentless Lunar Fury as a cheaper substitute for comboing and Might Bolstering Blow, she will likely beat any low level exalt she meets in resource racing; the fact that the Crimson Bow lets her eat through their mote pools to defend can only help more. Her biggest problem at the moment is mobility; stunts to keep distance from opponents will be key, and if the situation gets rough, she can turn herself into a bird or a fish and swim to a safer vantage point to shoot from - after all, the crimson bow guarantees her ability to hit from at least 1200 yards. However, as she is a high compassion character, she is likely unwilling to use anything but fowling arrows, and will likely try to spend her time avoiding combat - use Terrifying Lust Infliction to convince everyone to go drink instead of fighting, or duck out as a seagull. Don't underestimate the utility of various forms.
If Benevolent Hunger does proceed to gain packmates, she should coordinate their attacks for maximum DV penalties against her opponents from afar.
