With this charm, the Exalted sharpens their perceptions into a razor fine focus, feeling the wind, and selects the exact moment to throw so that their weapon will cut through the wind and strike without question. Attacks using this charm may be parried or dodged as normal, but as long as the user rolled at least one success on the attack roll, the attack will hit. Due to the sharpness necessary to guarantee an exact path through the air, this charm may only be used on sharp weapons (those that deal lethal damage). | With this charm, the Exalted sharpens their perceptions into a razor fine focus, feeling the wind, and selects the exact moment to throw so that their weapon will cut through the wind and strike without question. Just an additional charm to add on to the tree, closely paralleling Accuracy Without Distance, but not quite as good.
Inevitable Razor Strike
Cost: 8 motes Duration: Instant Type: Supplemental Min. Ability: 5 Min Essence: 1 Prereqs: Precision of the Striking Raptor
Comments:
I know it's cheap for a perfect effect, but there are two (or maybe three) disadvantages to it. The implicit disadvantage is that it's a thrown charm, and they tend to be a little cheaper or bend the rules a little anyway. The first written in disadvantage is that unlike Accuracy Without Distance, if something reduces the user's dicepool or successes to zero before they throw (this specifically includes abyssal defense charms), then they still miss. Finally, it didn't seem right for the flavour to allow this charm to be used on blunt weapons.
-- Darloth
Personally, I'd suggest that Essence 1 is a bit low for a perfect attack, and as a player of a Thrown-using character, if I were to buy an "accuracy without distance" type charm, I'd want/need it to work against the basic Abyssal defence charms. -- Krinly
The other perfect attack in the core is Essence 1. And if "it doesn't work against specific Abyssal builds!" is what's preventing you from buying Charms, then I guess your selection of Charms to buy is gonna be pretty low. -TheMyriadOfShades
