:I have gone back and crunched the numbers. Yes, I realize that this makes them cheaper - you could, in fact, easily pay artifact two and get a normal, itemless, bonus-less warstrider. There will be disadvantages to this, however, that will be appearant later on. - [[Bassist159]]

Creation Point Modifiers

  • Abyssal Artifacts - If the storyteller wishes, you may treat the Abyssal version of the Artifact background (Exalted: the Abyssals) as a dot higher than it's standard counterpart. However, like all things Abyssal, this really means your Deathlord's loaning out the gear to you, rather than you owning it.
  • Connections - If allowed by your storyteller, you may expend the Connections (Exalted: The Dragon-Blooded) background in the same manner you spend Resources for creation points.
  • Damaged Artifact For every level of Damaged Artifact (Exalted Player's Guide), remove one creation dot from their artifact rating multiplier (so, an Artifact ••••• Warstrider with the flaw Damaged Artifact •• runs through creation as if it were a x5 multiplier instead of x7.)
  • Gossamer - If the storyteller allows, the Gossamer background can be traded in as if it were Resources 2 levels higher than the background (In example, Gossamer •• trades in as if it were Resources ••••).
  • God-Blooded Artifacts - If the storyteller wishes, you may treat the God-Blooded version of the Artifact background (Exalted Player's Guide) as a dot higher than it's standard counterpart. However, like the background description says, this really means your Patron's loaning out the gear to you, rather than you owning it.
  • Grave Goods - If the storyteller allows, the Grave Goods background (Exalted: the Abyssals) may be used in place of Resources in character creation for a Warstrider.
  • Legendary Artifact - If the merit Legendary Artifact (Exalted Player's Guide) is bought in reguards to one of these war-striders, build it with no less than 100 points.
  • Leige - If allowed by your storyteller, you may expend the Leige (Exalted: the Abyssals) background for a flat 5 points per dot.
  • Patron - If allowed by your storyteller, you may expend the Patron (Exalted Player's Guide) background for a flat 5 points per dot.

Commentary From Others

I realise everything here is very much in development, I'm just giving you a heads up that if as I suspect these 'costs' are in creation points, you're making warstriders much much cheaper. Is this intentional?
-- Darloth

I have gone back and crunched the numbers. Yes, I realize that this makes them cheaper - you could, in fact, easily pay artifact two and get a normal, itemless, bonus-less warstrider. There will be disadvantages to this, however, that will be appearant later on. - Bassist159
