Stealth Charms

The theme for this Charm set is anima cloaking and manipulation.

Sanguine Supposition Exercise

  • Cost: None
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Type: Special
  • Minimum Stealth: 2
  • Minimum Essence: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: None

Infernal Essence is duplicitous, deceitful; it is as easy for it to mimic the things intrinsic to Creation as it is for a stalker to mimic one of the crowd. The Infernal becomes marked with elemental aspects of her own choice when taking this Charm; she may cause these to flare to prominence and use the other anima abilities common to all Terrestrial Exalts. Spending peripheral Essence reveals her true Caste Mark.

Madness Of Moonsilver Meditation

  • Cost: None
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Type: Special
  • Minimum Stealth: 3
  • Minimum Essence: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Sanguine Supposition Exercise

The Yozis bear secrets that could drive men insane faster than any exposure to the Wyld, and natures as shifting as Luna’s own. Using this bond of potential lunacy, the Infernal may use the minor anima abilities common to Lunar Exalted. When taking this Charm, the Infernal adopts tattoes and a false Caste Mark of her choice; it is this Mark that glows when a mote of essence is channelled through it. Should she spend peripheral Essence, her true Caste Mark is revealed.

Unity In Opposition Paradox

  • Cost: None
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Type: Special
  • Minimum Stealth: 3
  • Minimum Essence: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Sanguine Supposition Exercise

Fate and the Demon Princes are intertwined in a struggle that will last until the end of days; prophecy and celestial law are the instruments of the Yozis’ imprisonment, and those they seek to subvert and turn against one another by paradox. Calling upon such fallacy, the Infernal adopts the mantle of one of the Sidereals’ own, gaining the corresponding anima abilities and creating a false Caste Mark of her own choice. She may gain the Sidereals' sparkling eyes or other marks of that Caste if she so wishes. Should she spend peripheral Essence, her true Mark shines through.

Baleful Star’s Incandescence

  • Cost: None
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Type: Special
  • Minimum Stealth: 4
  • Minimum Essence: 4
  • Prerequisite Charms: Madness Of Moonsilver Meditation, Unity In Opposition Paradox

The sickly throbbing sun of Malfeas burns with the same vigour as the Unconquered Sun himself, though where the patron of the Solars brings illumination and fosters greatness, the green sun stirs hatred and propagates corruption. It is but a simple change of hue and mentality to adopt another – with this Charm, the Infernal gains a Caste Mark of the equivalent Solar Caste to her own, and the anima abilities common to all Solars. Her true Mark prevails should she spend peripheral Essence.

Malice’s Tether

  • Cost: None
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Type: Special
  • Minimum Stealth: 4
  • Minimum Essence: 4
  • Prerequisite Charms: Madness Of Moonsilver Meditation, Unity In Opposition Paradox

The Yozi know much of their fallen kin, and the Essence that infuses them. Though tenuous, their common malignant bond is sufficient to fuel delusion. With this Charm, the Infernal gains a Caste Mark of the equivalent Abyssal Caste to her own, and the anima abilities common to all Abyssals. Should she wish to become marked by death, she may adjust her physical appearance accordingly. Should she spend peripheral Essence, her true Caste Mark is shown instead.

Wall Of Veils

  • Cost: None
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Type: Special
  • Minimum Stealth: 3
  • Minimum Essence: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Sanguine Supposition Exercise

As the Infernal’s grasp of Essence increases, so does the flexibility of her illusions. Until her anima banner activates, her adopted Caste traits remain, and her actual Caste Mark is not revealed.

Knife Of Spun Shadow

  • Cost: None
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Type: Special
  • Minimum Stealth: 4
  • Minimum Essence: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Wall Of Veils

Refining her manipulation of her Essence flows, an Infernal may manifest them in manners otherwise unique to others. She may use the Caste anima abilities unique to those she may emulate through use of other Stealth Charms.

Bonds Of Spidersilk

  • Cost: None
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Type: Special
  • Minimum Stealth: 5
  • Minimum Essence: 4
  • Prerequisite Charms: Knife Of Spun Shadow

As her emulation of other Castes approaches its pinnacle, the Exalt may channel the powers of the gods themselves without stirring their attention. The Infernal may learn and use Charms as though she was a member of whatever Castes she can emulate through use of other Stealth Charms, though at double experience cost. Her favoured and Caste abilities remain unchanged.

Feedback

Looks excellent. I think that Malice's Tether should require Baleful Star's Incandescence, though; it strikes me as necessary to know the nature of the pure shard before emulating another shade of corruption. -- Will

Alternately, the other way around. Maybe the corrupted Essence of the Abyssals is easier for the Infernals, corruption incarnate, to comprehend and emulate than the pure light of the Unconquered Sun, so that they can only understand the pure version once they've mastered the corrupted form. -Ben-San
This is also a good idea, I think I'd just want one to be the prerequisite for the other. Makes more sense, IMO. -- Will
Not to be the voice of contention or anything, but I think it's fine the way it is. ;) ~ G

Originally I sort of blanched at this, but then I decided that it made a certain amount of sense for the Yozis to refrain from teaching their Chosen any way of staying hidden outside of infiltrating the societies of the other Exalted. Very sneaky. ~ G

Thanks for the comments, both! With regards Malice's Tether, I considered the transition between the vengeful nature of the Infernals and the dark crusading of the Abyssals to be a sufficient link, although I may re-think this. As for conventional stealthy Charms, some may indeed appear (with some nicely roundabout logic) in the upcoming Dodge tree. Sorry to pull a Siddy on you...DeathBySurfeit
