Contagion of Belief
Cost: 15 Motes, 2 Willpower Duration: Special Type: Simple Min Performance: 6 Min Essence: 6 Prereqs: Some powerful Performance Charms
The Solar Exalted can be irresistably powerful. The Dragon Blooded, when they speak of the words of the Anathema corrupting those who hear them, are not so far from the truth. For an elder Exalt, however, it is not necessary to speak to someone to convince them. Indeed, it is even possible to convince people that the Exalt has never met.
To use this Charm, the Exalt rolls Charisma (or Manipulation or Appearance, as appropriate) + Performance, which is treated as a normal roll. The power of the Essence lodges the results in the listeners minds, causing them to spread the Exalt's convictions like a virus. For as long as the Solar commits Essence--or until the next Calibration, whichever comes first--anyone who speaks to one of the 'carriers' must roll Willpower + Conviction against a difficulty of the Solar's Essence or be convinced themselves. If the carrier is speaking about the Solar's original topic, this happens immediately. Otherwise, the change in belief comes gradually, over the course of the next week. There is no limit to the number of people who can be affected by this power, but it only works on beings of Essence 1.
Lion-Warrior Training Technique
Cost: 25 Motes, 2 Willpower Duration: One Month Type: Simple Min Performance: 5 Min Essence: 4 Prereqs: Tiger-Warrior Training Technique
While Tiger Warriors can be devastating in battle, there is more to an army than fighting - every army needs its corps of officers. This Charm allows the Exalt to train up to his Permanent Essence in troops, who must have already gone through Tiger Warrior Training.
This Charm forges the already battle-hardened warriors into elite commanders. Troops who have trained for at least two months increase their facility with their relevant combat abilities to 4 (if it isn't there already), gain a Presence of at least 3, a Conviction of at least 3, and Wits and Charisma ratings of at least 3. Continual use of this Charm, or the use of it on a seasoned commander, can push these ratings even higher.
Dragon-Warrior Training Technique
Cost: 30 Motes, 3 Willpower Duration: Three Months Type: Simple Min Performance: 5 Min Essence: 5 Prereqs: Tiger-Warrior Training Technique
The Exalted cannot always be there to command their armies, and sometimes giving up a portion of their power to a subordinate is more than they can spare. In those cases, there is a way for a fore-sighted Exalt to prepare a contingency plan.
Only one warrior, who must have gone through Tiger-Warrior Training, can be trained with this Charm. At the end of three months, the character is counted as a heroic mortal if he or she was not already. S/he has full access to stunts and has the full compliment of health levels. In addition, the character gains a Lore of at least 3 as well as a Lore specialty in Tactics*, a Performance of at least 3, a Presence of at least 4, Valor and Conviction ratings of at least 4, and Charisma, Wits, and Intelligence ratings of at least 3. Repeated use of this Charm on a target, or use of it on an already experienced general, can push these ratings even higher.
- I think Craft (War) is stupid. Feel free to use that if you prefer.
