Effect: A character who activates this Charm reduces penalties imposed by multiple actions by two for each mote spent.  For instance, a character who takes two actions in a turn normally suffers a -2 penalty on the first action and a -3 penalty on the second.  By spending 1 mote on this Charm, she would eliminate the first penalty and reduce the second to -1.  This Charm cannot reduce any other type of penalty, or reduce multiple action penalties below 0, and a character may only spend a number of motes on it in a turn equal to her Melee score.  As an additional effect, the character suffers no penalty this turn for using a weapon in her off-hand.

:That's pretty amusing; this charm is the least modified from the published version in the Night Caste book.  Because I changed it so little, I hadn't really thought about its effects... I may look over the original to see if it may have intended to mean that a total of -2 dice in penalties may be negated with each activation.  Either way, you're probably right, and I'll reconsider the Charm when I go over the tree (after I've put it all up). - [[Arafelis]]

Dual Slaying Stance
Cost: 1 mote
Duration: One Turn
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Melee: 2
Minimum Essence: 1

Description: Tendrils of Essence similar in colour to the character's anima coil around his weapons and up his arms. The effect is subtle enough to be dismissed as a trick of the light.

Effect: A character who activates this Charm reduces penalties imposed by multiple actions by one for each mote spent. For instance, a character who takes two actions in a turn normally suffers a -2 penalty on the first action and a -3 penalty on the second. By spending 1 mote on this Charm, she would reduce the first penalty to -1 and the second to -2. This Charm cannot reduce any other type of penalty, or reduce multiple action penalties below 0, and a character may only spend a number of motes on it in a turn equal to her Melee score. As an additional effect, the character suffers no penalty this turn for using a weapon in her off-hand.

This Charm, and all Charms derived from this cascade, only function so long as the character is wielding at least two weapons. Any Charm with a duration ends immediately (unless otherwise noted) if the character ceases to be wielding at least two weapons.

Comments

A nice effect, but this seems very strong. When you consider that Excellent Strike allows you to buy attack dice at 1 mote apiece, and this nets you at least 4 dice per mote, which could be used to power a parry as well as an attack, it seems overpowered, especially for a starting charm. Someone with Melee 5 could spend 5 motes to make 5 attacks at no penalty. I'd suggest cutting the power in half - "A character who activates this Charm reduces penalties imposed by multiple actions by 1 for each mote spent." -- Xarak

That's pretty amusing; this charm is the least modified from the published version in the Night Caste book. - Arafelis
