Dodge Charms
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b275/InfernalExalted/Dodge.png
The theme for this tree is fate-distortion and being a complete bastard.
Eye And Eye Deterrent
- Cost: 3 motes
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Reflexive
- Minimum Dodge: 2
- Minimum Essence: 2
- Prerequisite Charms: None
As his foe attacks him, the Infernal meets his eye. Their gaze reflected in one anothers eyes unto infinity, the Infernal melds the paradox to unite them both for a brief instant. This Charm is activated after the attacker’s roll, and results in the effect of the attack being applied to both combatants. This does not count as an attack on the Infernal’s part. The enchanted allure of the Infernal’s eyes prevents anyone from looking away; only blinded creatures and those more than (their Perception x 5) yards away are immune to this Charm’s effects.
Sleight Of Ignoble Sacrifice
- Cost: 3 motes, 1 Willpower
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Reflexive
- Minimum Dodge: 4
- Minimum Essence: 2
- Prerequisite Charms: Eye And Eye Deterrent
Ever elusive, the Infernal twists through Fate, tangling its threads in an eyeblink. Using this Charm after an attack is rolled against him allows him to trade places with any acquiescent, roughly humanoid object within Essence x 2 yards; henchmen are perfect for this task. The attack hits the decoy instead; only after damage is rolled does reality unravel once more and the Infernal’s true location become clear. This may be considered a perfect defence.
Doom Shirking Technique
- Cost: 3 motes, 2 Willpower
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Simple
- Minimum Dodge: 4
- Minimum Essence: 3
- Prerequisite Charms: Sleight Of Ignoble Sacrifice
The Infernal flickers beyond Creation a brief moment, unentangling himself from the Loom of Fate. Any prophecies or astrological effects placed upon him no longer apply. If such prophecies were created by Sidereals, they gain a point of Paradox for every effect shirked this way due to the awful mess left behind afterwards.
Protagonist Scorning Switch
- Cost: 6 motes, 1 Willpower
- Duration: One turn
- Type: Simple
- Minimum Dodge: 5
- Minimum Essence: 3
- Prerequisite Charms: Sleight Of Ignoble Sacrifice
Often used in spite, this Charm allows the Infernal to move quickly enough that Fate takes a moment to adjust. He may switch places with any person within Essence x 2 yards, without visible movement. Indeed, he may do so without visible change; the subject of this Charm dons the Infernal’s appearance, and vice versa. If either is harmed or the Charm finishes, their true appearances are revealed.
Cracks In The Shell
- Cost: 10 motes, 1 Willpower
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Reflexive
- Minimum Dodge: 5
- Minimum Essence: 4
- Prerequisite Charms: Protagonist Scorning Switch, Doom Shirking Technique
As he is attacked, the Infernal briefly intertwines himself and his attacker. Embodying his attacker’s imperfections, he turns their hostility upon themselves by representing all they despise in their self-image. When activated, this Charm forces the Infernal’s attacker to make a reflexive Virtue check, using their highest Virtue. If they score more successes than their Essence, they turn the attack on themselves, believing it the only means of destroying the Infernal and their own bad nature alike. If they score fewer, their confidence is sufficient to overcome the illusion and continue the attack.
This moment of confusion can be played out as a brief spiritual journey; if so, good stunting by the Infernal increases his foe’s die pool, and good stunting by his opponent decreases it.
