Level Three Hairsticks
Orichalcum
Rope spun from sunlight burns away all deception found in the hearts of others. While bound, any mortal target must answer any questions put to him with the truth. For Exalted targets, the owner of the rope must roll Charisma+Socialize vs the target's MDV; if she succeeds, the target falls under the same effects.
If a garment is made of solar thread, the wearer gains an additional soak of 3B/3L against attacks by Creatures of Darkness. If the owner of the hairsticks is wearing the garment, the commitment cost for the thread to remain solid is 1 motes; if not, 5 motes.
Moonsilver
Rope spun from moonlight is a brilliant silvery-blue which shifts and changes before the eyes of those who look at it; those bound by it are often changed drastically. If bound in lunar rope, a target must roll for mutation once per hour bound; success gives the target a Pox, failure a Debility and a botch either a Deficiency or Debility. Lunars are, of course, immune to this effect.
Garments made from lunar thread bestow a wearer some small protection against the Wyld; when rolling for mutation, move up one step on the effects chart (for example, a character in the Middlemarches would still roll weekly, but would use the Bordermarches effect chart). If the owner of the hairsticks is wearing the garment, the commitment cost for the thread to remain solid is 1 motes; if not, 5 motes.
Starmetal
The material needed for these needles is not starlight, as one might suspect. Instead, the bearer pulls his material from the lines of fate around him. Thus, one bound by rope spun from this material is considered Inside of Fate, even if he would not be normally.
Garments made from this thread are a dark gray, sparkling with the colors of the Maidens. The wearer gains a bit of luck; once per session, she may reroll any one roll (barring damage rolls), accepting the result of the second roll. If the owner of the hairsticks is wearing the garment, the commitment cost for the thread to remain solid is 1 motes; if not, 5 motes.
Soulsteel
Soulsteel hairsticks are a relatively new sight in Creation, usually worn by Moonshadow diplomats. The rope they create, spun from either fresh blood or shadow, drains Essence from those bound by it. For every tick in combat (or five minutes out of combat), the person bound loses 2 motes of Essence. One of these motes returns to the owner of the hairsticks, while the other is consumed by the rope itself.
Garments made from this rather disturbing material flow around their wearer, with faces occasionally emerging from the 'fabric'. The wearer gains an additional soak of 3B/3L against Holy attacks. If the owner of the hairsticks is wearing the garment, the commitment cost for the thread to remain solid is 1 motes; if not, 5 motes.
