Guardian of Broken Words
Cost:5 motes, 1 Willpower Duration: Instant Type: Simple Min. Linguistics: 4 Min. Essence: 3 Prereqs: Glyph-Unveiling Meditation
Some secrets are meant to stay secrets. With this Charm, an Abyssal can enchant any document or record she has made, so that after it is read or listened to by a certain individual this record destroys itself. Should anyone other than the named person attempt to read it, the record destroys itself immediately. The very record is imbued with it's own sense of secrecy and selfishness, so that it would rather end itself than be read by more than a single person. And so, with this hatred, the very medium recorded destroys that which holds it. The ink of written documents glows darkly and spreads throughout, devouring till all that is left is black dust... and then not even that. More occult means may resonate with dissonant tones not unlike a black melody to the Malfeans, eventually shattering a crystal into nothing more than a razor dust.
Attentive Antiphon Disposition
Cost:5 motes, 1 Willpower Duration: One scene Type: Simple Min. Linguistics: 5 Min. Essence: 3 Prereqs: Peerless Fluency Style, Deception-Piercing Stare
With careful words and understanding of the nature of questions, an Abyssal may lie with seemingly perfect truth. In reality, she is speaking the truth, but to questions as she interprets them. There is no non-magical way to know they are lying without proof to the contrary (and even then, they could merely be mistaken.) Against magical effects with a roll, their difficulty is raised by the Exalt's Essence. With effects that find the truth without a roll, the Abyssal may make a reflexive Wits + Linguistics roll to oppose a Perception + Investigation roll of their questioner.
Stealing the Living Voice
Cost:7 motes Duration: One scene Type: Simple Min. Linguistics: 5 Min. Essence: 3 Prereqs: Theft of Words
Where before the Abyssal could take the victim's mastery of languages, now the Abyssal can steal their entire voice. The player makes a roll of Manipulation + Linguistics at a difficulty of the target's Permanent Essence. In effect, the victim can no longer speak, sing, use their voice in any manner. Hand languages and writing are not affected though. This can not be used successfully on someone with a higher Permanent Essence than the Abyssal using it. Also this can only be used on targets that are living or "living" spirits. Ghosts and Deathlords are not valid.
Mimicry of the Taken
Cost:8 motes, 1 Willpower Duration: One scene Type: Simple Min. Linguistics: 5 Min. Essence: 3 Prereqs: Stealing the Living Voice
The Abyssal can now use any voice he has stolen. For as long as he has a particular voice, he can use it freely. If the Exalt has stolen more than one voice at a time, the Exalt can switch between them with no difficulty at all.
