New Thaumaturgy Rituals by Quendalon

The magical tricks of the thaumaturges cannot be compared to Exalted Charms and Sorcery. Nonetheless, the power and flexibility of the art cannot be denied.

Level One

Warmth of the Smoldering Hearth:
By spending one mote or one Willpower and gesturing for one turn, the thaumaturge heats a small stone or earthenware object to the boiling point of water. This lasts for one minute, after which the object begins to cool at a natural rate. This is generally used to warm food or prepare tea.

Level Two

The Healer’s Touch:
This is a simple, yet powerful ritual employed to stop bleeding. The thaumaturge utters a prayer to the Nine Blessed Immortals of the Heavenly Houses of Healing, and spends one mote or one Willpower. This reduces the difficulty of the Wits + Medicine roll to bind a wound by two. If this reduces the difficulty to zero, the wound stops bleeding immediately, without the need for bandages or other paraphernalia.

Level Three

Restoration of the Grave’s Repose:
To prepare this ritual, the thaumaturge inscribes an entreaty to the constellation of the Corpse in golden ink upon a scarlet prayer strip. These prayer strips may be carried about indefinitely before use. When faced with the walking dead, the thaumaturge may attempt to lay a zombie to rest by applying a prayer strip to its forehead. This requires a successful attack roll and the expenditure of a temporary Willpower point. On a successful attack, the prayer strip clings to the zombie’s forehead, and the creature loses all animation until the strip is peeled away.
