Lunar Melee Charms by David.

Though I have listed these Charms as melee Charms, both of them may be used armed or unarmed. One of them, in fact, can even be used with ranged attacks.

Savage Upsetting Lunge

Cost: 3 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Minimum Strength: 2
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Sensing the Deadly Flow -or- Deadly Claw Blow

Like a leopard falling on its prey from above, the Lunar falls on his foe, unbalancing his adversary. The Lunar lunges or leaps at his target as he performs a normal close-combat or thrown attack. The base damage of this attack is doubled. In addition, the target is considered prone for the purposes of defending against this attack, suffering the normal prone penalties, which may be overcome with any magic that overcomes prone-fighting penalties. This effect does not apply if the target is already knocked down. This Charm only supplements attacks powered by the Lunar's own muscle - attacks made with a warstrider, for example, cannot be empowered with the Savage Upsetting Lunge. This Charm is an alternate prerequisite to Ferocious Biting Sword.

Cornered Predator Counterthrust

Cost: 4 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Dexterity: 4
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Savage Upsetting Lunge, Ground-Denying Defense

The Lunar moves with savage grace, timing his attack to take advantage of a foe extending to strike the Exalted. When attacked in close combat, the Lunar uses an action and invokes the Cornered Predator Counterthrust, making a normal close combat attack in return. This attack cannot be dodged or parried unless the target aborts the attack that illicited the counterthrust. Even reflexive or persistent defense Charms cannot parry this attack unless the aggressor aborts his strike at the Lunar. Perfect defenses may still be used. A Lunar may not parry an attack he meets with the Cornered Predator Counterthrust, but may dodge normally. Defenses independent of the target of the Cornered Predator Counterthrust, such as the sorcery spell Virtuous Guardian of Flame, can still affect the Lunar's counter normally. The Cornered Predator Counterthrust is considered a counterattack, and may not be used in response to a counterattack Charms, nor may counterattack Charms be used in response to it. In Power Combat, the attack modified with this Charm never suffers the usual dice penalty for a held action.

Comments

Hmm. I'm trying to decide about this line: "The Cornered Predator Counterthrust is considered a counterattack, and may not be used in response to a counterattack Charms, nor may counterattack Charms be used in response to it". I'm very tempted to jot down some rules for how "interruptor attacks" work, and then rewording this Charm to be such a special attack. No decisions yet, of course, so for now it remains the same. - David.
