DragonBlooded Craft Charms by Quendalon
Part the Gossamer Stones
Cost: 5 motes, 1 Willpower Duration: One turn Type: Simple Minimum Craft: 4 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite Charms: Perfect Climbing Attitude
A Dragon-Blooded craftsman expert in the ways of Earth may employ this Charm to pass through metal and stone as if through water. The Charm lasts for but a moment, during which the character may move through up to 10 feet of earth, metal or stone, leaving no mark to indicate her passage. If the character is still within the stone at the end of the turn, she remains locked in stone unless and until she activates the Charm again. A character locked in stone takes no damage but will quickly suffocate unless released.
Earthen Immersion Assault
Cost: 8 motes, 1 Willpower Duration: Instant Type: Supplemental Minimum Craft: 5 Minimum Essence: 4 Prerequisite Charms: Part the Gossamer Stones
A Dragon-Blood with sufficient mastery of earth may turn that power against others. A character with this Charm may attempt to submerge a clinched opponent into earth or stone, imprisoning the victim. When attempting to maintain a clinch, the character may declare the use of Earthen Immersion Assault before rolling on the contested clinch roll. If successful, the target is partly embedded in the chosen surface; he has a penalty to all physical actions equal to the number of extra successes the Dragon-Blood gained on the clinch roll.
In order to escape from packed earth, the target must roll Strength + Athletics against a difficulty of the number of extra successes. Double the difficulty for hard clay or friable stone, and triple it for solid rock. If the character's extra successes on the clinch roll equal the target's Strength + Athletics, then the target is entirely submerged. A fully submerged character may take no physical actions other than attempting to escape, and is considered to be suffocating in accordance with the drowning rules.
Comments
Oooh, I LIKE this Charm. It may be Lore as well as Craft..hmm. Obviously, all sorts of applications. Can things be taken with you? Familiars, clothes, weapons? If so, can they be left behind? This would be fun in combat or stealth...especially with Unbreathing Meditation and some Awareness Charms. - Telgar
Unbreathing Earth Meditation is a perfectly good trick to use with this Charm; stranding an opponent inside solid rock is another matter, and I'll have to think about whether that should be allowed and, if so, how it should work. The Charm is flexible enough without turning it into an excessively lethal weapon. - Quendalon
